Chapter 7

"When I was in my 3rd year grade school, I had a project where I had to make a short video presentation about my family. I got really excited because before I knew my love for writing, I really enjoyed making videos and editing them. Now, there are many new video softwares you can enjoy. But back in my days, I used to play and experiment with Windows Movie Maker."

"Alright, so going back to the story, I thought that was my chance to let my parents get to know each other better, which means they would be seeing each other more often because of this project." I smiled victoriously.

"And I was right. They got closer with each other and I might have seen the sparks in their eyes. Basta, I don't want to spoil anything to you guys yet. I call this "Operation: ViceRylle"." I motioned my arm to the projector screen behind me. I looked at the audience who were now focused on the blank screen.

"Role, VTR!" I said and chuckled a few seconds later, "I'm kidding. I don't have the copy with me right now." I said and heard a couple of them grunt, probably cursing me for my mischievousness.

"Tristan, is this really necessary? Kelangan ba magkasama kami sa video? Hindi ba pwedeng kunan mo na lang kami separately?" Karylle protested. She was sitting on the couch with Vice while Tristan was fixing the camera stand and adjusting the camera lens in front of him.

"Ma, the teacher said it's a must to include everyone in the family at least in one scene, right? And don't worry, there will be scenes that will be filmed individually. Now, can you please stop complaining?" Tristan explained to her, his one eye closed while adjusting the zoom until he was satisfied with the angle.

"Dada, can you move a little closer to Mom. But not too close, leave some space for me." He instructed Vice. Vice followed and moved a little closer.

"Gaano ka-close?" Vice asked in a teasing way. Karylle turned to him and her eyes went wide as their faces were only inches apart. She looked away and Vice giggled softly.

It was only the first scene and they had multiple takes already because both Vice and Karylle either sounded dull or both were just so awkward with each other, but Tristan was very patient with them because the more times they spend on re-doing one scene, the more his parents get to spend time together. He giggled softly.

On their first shooting day, Tristan filmed most of the scenes at home. He asked Vice to help him film in his study room where his mom would be helping him with his homework. That didn't take long so they moved on to the next scene where Karylle and Tristan will be in the music room which Vice was shocked about.

He didn't know they had a grand piano in the house. He realized that he hasn't seen the entire house yet. He's been on the second floor but only in Tristan's room. Maybe he could tour himself around when he gets Karylle's permission of course, he didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable and invade her private property. It's still her house even if he's been there a couple of times.

Vice adjusted the camera lens while Tristan and Karylle were both seated in front of the piano. As soon as Vice yelled, "Action!" Karylle and Tristan giggled. Vice made it seem like they were shooting a movie. Tristan began to sing softly as Karylle played the piano. Vice's heart softened as he watched them. Tristan is a smart and a talented kid. He has a voice of an angel. He could not stop smiling while hearing him sing.
