Chapter 15

"When I was a kid, I always look forward to occasions like Valentine's Day, Christmas and New Year because we get to celebrate and do so many things. Also, I get to eat as many sweets as I want." I giggled.

"So as you know, every Valentine's, my mom does scavenger hunts for me. It was like a tradition for us. Who said Valentine's is only for lovers? It's for everyone. On Halloween, mom buys tons of chocolates and candies for trick or treats. I remember when Dada, Ma, and I dressed up as The Incredibles for Halloween." I chuckled as I recalled that day we decided to go as The Incredibles.

"They argued on who was going to be Elastic Girl. Obviously, Dada fought for it because he didn't want to wear the muscular costume but in the end, Ma convinced him to be Mr. Incredible and promised him that next Halloween, he'd get to pick this time. But he earned a slap on the arm when he squealed that he'd want to be Catwoman next year with matching seductive "Meooow!"." The audience burst into laughter. I laughed along with them. Good times.

"Christmas is my favorite. It's the time of the year where all families and relatives get together and celebrate. It's the time of the year where we get to eat a lot and gain weight." I laughed.

"There will also be family games. We play Charades every Christmas. And of course, presents! Who doesn't love presents, right?"

"This Christmas story I'm about to share with you is very spec—Hey, where are you going?" I stopped as I noticed someone at the back row stood up from his seat and was excusing his way out.

I couldn't quite hear what he was saying. Toilet break, perhaps?

"We're getting to the best part. You don't want to miss this one." I teased.

I smiled when I saw him go back to his seat.

"It was the Christmas Eve of 2010..." I began.

"Mommy." She heard a low voice, but her eyes remained closed.

"Mommy."

"Hmmm..." She hummed in response then her eyes slowly opened and saw her son sitting next to her with a tray and Vice sitting on the other side of the bed.

"Good morning, Mommy. I made you breakfast." Her 16-year-old boy said proudly with a smile.

"Uy, ako kaya yung nagluto! Ikaw lang nagdala sakanya. Nakipag-unahan pa 'tong anak mo sakin." Pagsusumbong ni Vice at natawa naman si Karylle.

The three of them had breakfast in bed. Tristan took his plate of pancake and placed it on his lap then grabbed the blueberry syrup and poured it on his pancakes carefully to make sure it wouldn't drip on the sheets.

Vice poured syrup on the pancake then he took a slice and fed his girlfriend.

"Oh, may naiwan pang syrup." He said as he wiped off the blueberry syrup on the side of her lips before licking it.

He took another slice and shoved it in his mouth then took another one and fed Karylle next with a smack on her lips afterward.

"Mmm... sarap! Lasang blueberry! Isa pa nga!" He leaned forward, aiming for her lips once again.

"Ew! Dada! Can't you see there's a kid in here?" Tristan complained, pumipiyok pa ang boses nito. His nose scrunched up in disgust.

"Maka-ew naman 'to!"
