Chapter 12

Author’s P.O.V

Selena’s arm extended out of the passenger side window. She let the warm rays of the sun hit her skin and the cool breezes blow her hair out behind her. Justin sat in the driver’s seat looking at the road ahead of him with his pitch black sunglasses hiding his hazel eyes. Selena’s luggage was placed in the back seat of her car.

The two rode along in silence and let the radio play in the background. They had left earlier that morning and were soon reaching their destination of the rented compound. Justin’s things were left in the hands of his boys who took the large red van and his range rover out here and were probably checking into a hotel right about now.

"It should be right up ahead." Selena informed. Justin slowed the car along the empty road and pulled up to large, white houses. There was one bigger house that was parked closest to the large parking area and another slightly smaller house a bit farther off. There was also a small cabin located right in front of the lake, close to the bigger house.

“Look, that’s where I’m staying,” Selena pointed to the small cabin with the perfect view. “It’s just me, Sammy, and Luke sharing the cabin.” Justin smiled. He liked Luke and liked the chance of being around another guy he easily gets along with when he was hanging around here.

Selena hopped out of her car and proceeded to open the back to grab her belongings. Justin followed Selena’s actions, but Selena had already gathered everything she needed and slammed the door shut with her hip.

Justin came around the car and held his hands out to offer her help.

“It’s okay, I’ve got it.” Selena assured.

“Selena, give me something to carry.” Justin said.

“Justin, I’ve got it. I used to travel every weekend between my parents house. I’m used to it.” She said.

Always so stubborn, Justin thought.

Justin knew she wasn’t going to give in, so he just went ahead and grabbed at the clothes bag weighing down her shoulder and walked off towards the cabin with it now hung upon his broad shoulder. Selena was left with her bag full of make up and toiletries and her purse. Selena grumbled under her breath and jogged to catch up to Justin.

“I don’t doubt that you can handle it, you just shouldn’t have to,” Justin smiled and put his arm around her shoulders.

“Fine.” She knew he already won since they we’re already inside the cabin by now. But like Justin said, she’s stubborn.

“Where’s Luke and Sam?” Justin wondered aloud. The place was untouched.

“They must not be here yet.” Selena said. “They both have college stuff so they might be here later.”

The two went off in search of Selena’s bedroom but also used the chance to get to know the place. There was a small bathroom that held the necessities including a shower and a washer and dryer. There was also a kitchen with a stocked fridge. One wall of the kitchen was all glass and you could walk out thesliding door to the back porch where you get the beautiful view of the blue lake water. The living room was fairly big and had a long couch, a comfy looking chair and a TV. The back wall of the living room was, again, all glass and led to the back porch. Selena opened one door and saw a room with two twin beds, a nightstand, and a dresser. Selena dumped her things on the bed closest to the nightstand and Justin did as well.

“There’re only two beds here. Where’s the third person sleeping?” Justin asked.

“There’s probably another room in here.” She shrugged. Selena unzipped the large bag Justin carried in and began digging through it to find her two bikinis she brought. Justin laid back on the other bed and waited for Selena.
