Chapter 4: Family

"What's up?" I answer the phone, sitting across from Alexander at some fancy restaurant.

"How's everything going?" I hear Lennon asks and I roll my eyes.

"Seriously Len? We just got here, actually we're first to arrive." I say and Alexander chuckles.

"Hey, I just wanted to know what a big lunch at a fancy place with an awesome cast felt like." she says and I smile.

"I imagine it feels like having a big dinner with your model friends, loud and overwhelming but I'll let you know later." I tell her before she hangs up.

"Lennon's a model?" Alexander asks and I nod.

"Yeah, she started modelling at sixteen and has been at it since. She sort of fell into it though. I remember all of sophomore year, she spent fretting over getting good grades so she could go to college to be a doctor." I say. chuckling at the thought. The girl nearly fainted at the sight of me when I had the flu.

"Its crazy how life throws a curve ball at you, sometimes." he says and I nod.

"There's our two leads!" I hear Sam Kadeldon say behind me and I see Alexander smile at someone over my head. I stand up and turn to come face to face with Kadeldon.

"Hey Boss man," I say as he pulls in me for a hug, Alexander joins in on our love fest.

"Meet your supporting actors; sweet little Kendall Sage and Dylan Kasu. Jordan Hugh is on his way." Kadeldon says as I look at 15 year old Kendall Sage.

"Hey," she says brightly, hugging me and I gasp in shock. I was nowhere near this outgoing at fifteen, hell I still wasnt at twenty years old.

"Hi, I'm Amelia." I say to her, hugging her back.

"This is going to be so much fun, we're the only girls on set." she says and I smile.

"Actually Denise Redding, who plays Alexander's mother is joining us sometime later on in the evening. " Kadeldon says.

"Hello, I'm Dylan Kasu." the 19 year old introduces himself to me. He takes my hand and kisses it with a smirk.

"Amelia," I say, pulling my hand away and turning to Alexander who chuckles at the scene before him.

"Hey man," he says to Dylan as they do the manly bro hug and hand thing. We take our seat, Alexander sitting by my left side and Kendall on my right. Kadeldon sits at end right in the center.

"I guess I'll tell you all now, since we're here; production starts in two weeks in Phoenix, Arizona." Kadeldon says and I take a deep breath in. At least I wasn't too far from home this time around.

"That's great, I like it there." Dylan says as Kendall agrees.

"My family and I have vacationed there when I was filming there a while back. It's pretty nice." Alexander says.

"Hi everyone," I assume Jordan Hugh says as he stands by the entry way.

"Jordan, so glad you could make it. Grab a seat,"Kadeldon says as Jordan sit next to Dylan.

"Jordan meet Alexander Knight, Amelia Hayes, Kendall Sage, and Dylan Kasu." Kadeldon says to him and he smiles at all of us.

"Hey," he says simply.

"Jordy and I actually already know each other; he played my big brother in a Soap opera when i was thirteen." Kendall says to me as he winks at her.

"Kenny, how's your mother?" he says smiling at her.

"She's doing great, she's doing better now that dad is cancer free." she says and nods.

"I'll be seeing more of the fam again since we're back at it again." he says.

"I'm loving this already." Kadeldon says as two waiters come to take our orders. Three of our older cast and crew mates join us soon after. I meet my father in the film, Joey Pinsec; Denise Redding and Dave Black, our producer.

"I saw you guys on the Lucy Duran show, you guys were amazing." Dave says and we thank him.

"She was so much fun to talk to," Alexander says and I nod. Throughout dinner the cast and crew exchange numbers and we take a million pictures.

"So this is it?" Jordan says as we start our dessert.

"What's it?" Kendall asks.

"I've never been in such a small cast, it feels cosy." he says and I chuckle.

"This is the biggest cast I've been in." I say and Alexander nods. Jordan was the oldest of the younger cast and he'd been in more films than tv shows.

"Yes, this is...our little family of eight plus our amazing crew." Kadeldon says and we all share a look.

"As I've said a million time already; This is going to be great." Kadeldon says.

"So what do you think of our cast?" Alexander asks me as I sit in the passenger seat of his car.

"They feel like family already, especially Kendall." I say thinking of the fifteen year old who started calling me Lia sometime during our dessert, she was already starting to feel like the little sister my mother failed to give me. Instead I had two brothers; one older and one younger.

"Yeah, my little sister. Jordan and Dylan are cool too. Slightly inappropriate but cool nonetheless." he says and I laugh, completely agreeing with him.

"So, three months in Arizona...how ya feeling about that?" he asks me and I shrug.

"It'll be my first time away from home without either my mom. Since I was too young to travel for the beginning of my career my mother went everywhere with me. Now it's just me and my manager Liam." I say and he nods.

"I understand, most of my filming has taken place on a set and here in L.A....I sort of feel bad that I won't be seeing my mum and little sister Jane." he says.

"I didn't know you had a little sister. What are they like?" I ask curious.

"Ahh, my mother, Elaine, is the most charismatic and loving woman I've ever known. And Janey...ugh she's growing up so quickly, I can already tell she's going to be a heart breaker.She's incredibly smart and beautiful and wise. They're my everything." he says and I find myself holding back an "aw" because he was truly smitten with the ladies of his family. They had him wrapped around their finger and I thought it was quite admirable of him.

"I can't wait to meet them." I say and I catch a tiny smile on his lips.
