11|| last day of school
"I'll miss this place, crappy food and all."
Carter High School, May 2016-
Alison stared up at the clock. This day couldn't go any faster. It was her last day at Carter High, and she didn't want to waste a second of it. Well actually, maybe she did. Alison wasn't really sure how she was supposed to feel about leaving the school.
The bell ending fourth period sounded, and everyone arose from their seats. Alison pulled her backpack from under her seat, and walked out of the classroom.
Navigating the halls at Carter sucked. There were football players tossing balls everywhere, nerds clutching onto books, kids running through the hallways, and "popular" girls walking in cliques.
Alison ducked under the footballs being chucked through the hallways, and made it all the way to her locker. She gave a small breath of relief.
Alison pulled up to her locker, throwing her bag into her locker carelessly. Alison grabbed her phone out of the front pocket of the bag, along with her earbuds. She shoved the earbuds into her pockets, her phone being slipped into her back pocket.
As soon as she got the supplies she needed, Alison slammed the locker door shut, the lock clanging against the door. The lock bounced back and forth on the locker.
Alison sighed, and walked away from her locker. She walked towards the cafeteria, it being lunchtime for the first years.
Other freshmen pushed and shoved in the hallways, heading off towards lunch. Alison looked at them with a twinge of regret. They could run off and do whatever they wanted, they had another three years here.
Alison pulled out her neatly wrapped earbuds, plugging them into her half-charged phone. She really didn't want to talk to anyone, and have to explain the fact why she was leaving Carter.
Ali followed the trail of her peers, making her way to the cafeteria. The doors were wide open, full of the scent of crappy food. She winced at the wafting smell, pushing her way deeper into the lunch area.
She walked over to the lunch line, picking up a plastic red lunch tray, and some silverware. Alison slid her tray down the metal aisles, observing what was being served for lunch.
Half of the food was glop. Well, maybe it was better than the mush at that prison, but it still looked like complete crap. The other half was takeout pizza, and the only good thing the lunch ladies made- tater tots.
Alison picked up a plate of pizza, and a little basket full of tater tots. She handed the cashier a five dollar bill. Alison nodded at the man, and walked into the tables.
