"Enough with the pity parties for me. I'm fine, really."

Midtown High School, October 2016-

It was only a week into Alison's sentence in her wheel chair and she was already sick of it. All of the stares at her while she was rolling down the hallways of Midtown, all the condolences on her injury getting tiring.

Her backpack in her lap, Alison rolled into the high school. She was thankful that today was Friday. She could have a whole entire weekend to herself, and the weekend to hang out with Charles.

Moving through the halls, Alison felt short. Everything seemed bigger, and taller. She was even shorter than the people that she normally toppled in height. Ali felt like an ant in a field of boots. Or just Ant Man in a normal world when he shrank down in size.

The school news was playing once again, interviewing the decathlon team on the experience in the elevator, and the aftermath. The kids chimed a cringey thank you to the Spider-Man, and didn't discuss the incident in which Alison fell.

It all made sense of course, and Ali was kind of grateful she wasn't being mentioned in it. The less you were recognized in high school, the better, right?

Ali's thoughts began to wander as she smoothly rode through the hallways, blocking out the awkward newscast. She thought about maybe making food with Charles out of the basket Mr. Stark gifted the family. Running through the halls, clearly in a rush to get somewhere, someone bumped into Alison.

The person, racing through the crowded halls, turned around, skidding to a stop. They wanted to see who they ran into, and Alison wanted to know who ran into her as well. It was Flash.

"Oh look, it's Accident Alison. Too unimportant for even the Spider-Man to save her." Flash sneered, looking at her with a disgusted glare. He straightened his mustard Midtown blazer. Flash was still wearing the ugly thing, as some type of bragging rights about being on the winning decathlon team.

"Thanks Flash." Alison rolled her eyes, resisting the urge to roll her wheelchair over his toes. "That really just puts the cherry on top of a great week." Her face crinkled in disgust at the boy. "Now if you'll excuse me I have a class to walk to." She began to wheel away, trying to ignore the boy.

"As if you can even walk!" Flash hollered at the girl, thinking that the joke was funny. "See, that's a joke because-"

Skylar, who has just bounded through the doors, slapped Flash on the back. "I think she gets it, ass." She seemed defensive, almost snarling at the high school boy.
