"The Spider-Man saved my ass. Well, that's new."
Queens, New York City, October 2016-
School was out. The bells of freedom for the day were ringing loudly, and everyone was anxious to leave.
Alison was equally anxious to leave. Everyone was full force to leave today, which was weird. Normally everyone left at a leisurely pace, but everyone leaving at the same time was like something out of a movie.
Ali shrugged the weird thought out of her head, unlocking her bike off of the rack. She mounted on, and began to ride out of the high school.
The ride into Queens was fairly easy, and relaxing. Alison met up with her brother at Midtown Middle, and the two bikes off to get some candy at a store nearby.
The two dismounted their bikes, leaving them on the rack. Alison locked them up, and they walked into the store.
Charles, who had been coming to the place for ages, knew exactly what to do. "Hey Mr. Delmar," he smiled. "How are you doing?"
"Good," the man behind the counter said. "You haven't been here in a while. How you been kid?" He gives Charles a fist bump.
"Good," Charles smiled. "I brought my sister with me today." He gestured back at Alison, who was looking at the sour gummy worms.
"So this is the famed Alison you've been telling me about." Mr. Delmar leans over the counter, looking at Alison. "It's nice to meet you. "
Alison looked up and smiled at Mr. Delmar. "It's nice to meet you sir. Charles has told me about you." She took the sour gummy worms off the rack. "And your amazing sandwiches." Alison added in.
Mr. Delmar gave Charles a look of approval. "I like her. Bring her back whenever you want, ok?"
Charles nodded, his eyes lighting up with glee. "Thanks Mr. Delmar!" He exclaimed.
"That's no problem." Mr. Delmar looked at Alison. "You gonna buy something kid?"
Alison nodded. "Yeah," She placed the two packs of gummy worms on the counter. "Two please."
Mr. Delmar nodded and rang up the cashier. "That'll be 4 bucks."
Alison fingered through her wallet, bringing out a five dollar bill. She tentatively placed it on the counter, and slid it over.
The pleasant ding of the cashier echoed through the air, and Mr. Delmar gave Alison back her spare change.
Alison took back the bill, but then placed it in the tips jar. "Thanks for taking care of my brother." She looked over at Charles, who was petting the cat on the sandwich counter. "It means a lot to me."
