34 || avengers tower cleaning and sneaking onto planes
"I swear, if you start singing the clean-up song as we pack, I'm actually going to leave."
Avengers Tower, New York City, New York, October 2016-
DAYS UNTIL HOMECOMING: 0
They had been sorting for hours. Sorting wasn't the exact word, it was more of packing up boxes and being monitored by Happy Hogan more than anything. Skylar and Alison had reached into the last room of the tower to be cleaned up, and it was Skylar's old room.
"I'm sorry Skylar, what was that?" Alison hollered, throwing some of her old clothes into the donate box. By this point, Skylar had moved out all of her old stuff, as she had been living in Avengers Facility for two years now, but it was the remnants of the things she left behind that needed to be packed up.
"I said that you need to take down the old photo frames on the walls after this." Skylar peeked her head out from her crouched position, gesturing to the walls around her. "We don't have three days to clean this place up, we have one night. Or- more like 15 minutes if we want these boxes to go on the plane."
"Yeah well, we can make that night stretch out as long as we want." Alison grumbled, starting to fold up the box of clothes. "Especially since your dad told us that if he finds out that we cheated at cleaning by hacking things or using superpowers that we'd be grounded for a long time."
Sighing, Alison and Skylar resumed cleaning up the small remains of the room. A lot of it was being donated to Salvation Army or Goodwill, so they just stuck little pink sticky notes on those items. Alison taped up her box of clothes, and started to work on the picture frames.
As Skylar finished off the first shelf and moved onto the next, her phone started to buzz with a classic rock song. Probably by AC/DC, as the girl had some music taste like her father. Rock was their shared thing, so it seemed.
Skylar picked up the phone, nestling it between her ear and her shoulder. "Yes, this is Skylar Stark. Now who would this be? Peter? What the- and Ned? Dear god, what have you two- are you serious?" She yelped, wanting to yell at her old childhood friends. "Yeah, yeah, okay. I'll put her on." Handing the phone over to Alison, Skylar gave her an "I told you so look."
"Alison?!" Peter exclaimed over the phone, still on call with Ned, as Ned had somehow patched his way through so he could talk to Peter and talk to Alison at the same time. Or maybe that was Skylar's doing, Alison really had no clue at this point. "Alison, are you there?" He yelled, the loud noises of a Queens street behind him. "Alison, I need you to do something for me."
Alison sighed as she pressed the phone up to her ear. "Yeah? And what would that be now, Peter? We've been stuck here cleaning since school got out cause I helped you." She ran a hand through her hair as she spoke her next words. "I'm just trying to lay low right now, you know, not draw attention to me? Having a super villain on your back is not a fun thing."
