"Talia Jefferson to the school office, Talia Jefferson to the school office" the PA blared loudly as the bell rang. Talia was definitely in trouble. I couldn't believe I had talked to my bestfriend like that. I had to make it right with her. I opened my locker and put my books in. "Hey Alex, can we talk?" it was Aaron. He was so perfect, his muscles bulged from his shirt.  He was probably here to tell me what a terrible friend I was. "Hey, sure what's up? I said coolly. "I just wanted to make sure you were okay, I saw what happened this morning" he looked at me sympathetically. "I was so rude" I looked down ashamed. "You were pretty rude" he agreed "your friend was sticking up for you".  I looked at him crazy as he laughed. "I mean you said it, not me" he smiled and I couldn't help but smile back. He was right.

"I promise I'm not like that, I was just upset and scared" I said truthfully. "I get it, Olivia can really be a pain and I know Sydney isn't easy either" he had an apologetic look on his face. "Yeah, she's been great" I laughed sarcastically. "Some people were telling me what she said, I am really sorry Alex" he was so sweet. "It's okay, I know you aren't associated with her like that, you don't have to apologize on her behalf" I said touching his arm. Whoa what was happening, here? "I had never known her to be like that" he was confused. "People change" I said. "Yeah you   are right" he agreed. "Listen, um why don't you come with me this weekend to the Fair?" he asked. "Really, like me and you?" I asked dumbly.

"Yeah, unless you want to invite more people?" he said with a smile. "No, no me and you, that's that's fine" I stuttered. "Yeah? Okay cool, leave your crazy side at home" he joked. I laughed at him and hit him in the arm. "That's funny" I rolled my eyes. "Can I see your phone?" he asked and I handed it over to him. "This is my number, text me and we can figure out the details okay" he grinned showing his perfect teeth. "Yeah, I will text you" I couldn't believe this. "Alright, cool I'll see you later" he walked off and I couldn't help but stare.

"So, he asked you out?" I turned around to see Talia behind me. She had a snide look on her face.  "T, I'm so sorry" I felt so bad about what I had said. "Yeah I know, they gave me 5 demerits" she said grimly. "I really am sorry, I'm hoping you can forgive me" I sighed in frustration "I didn't mean it, honestly". It was the truth, I know she can be a little crazy and feisty. I loved that about her, but she could be too much at times. "Yeah sure, you were so sorry that you set up a date with loverboy" she looked at me pathetically. She was being rude and I understood why. "You're clearly still mad, so I'm going to go" I said quietly. "Yeah you should" she called after me as I walked away. I hated being in a fight with her. I had to find Rainie, I was hoping she would help.

I dialed her number, she had to answer since she had a free hour. "Hello?" she said breathlessly. "Um, Rain?" what was she doing? "Y- Yea?" she sounded distracted.  I then heard a guys voice asking if she liked it. I know she was not... "Geez, Rain are you in the janitor's closet right now?!" I whispered harshly. "Maybe, what do you want?" she sounded annoyed. " I need to talk to you, that's what" I couldn't believe her right now. "Five minutes, meet at my locker" she said and hung up the phone. I shook my head laughing to myself this girl is crazy. I headed upstairs to her locker, I guess I will just wait for her.  Sure enough she came around the corner, with her hair a little frazzled. Joseph walked out shortly after her, walking in the opposite direction. Wait Joseph?!

"Hey" she said walking up to me. "I'm sorry, you and Joseph?" I was shocked. "Shh" she shushed me. "Are you guys like a thing?" I asked her. "I don't know what we are just yet" she said truthfully. I laughed. "Well I'm surprised, I didn't think he was your type" she looked at me and laughed. "He is cool you know, different" she smiled. "That's good then" I was glad she was at least getting the high school experience. "So what's up babes, what did you want to talk about?" she asked. "Talia, she is still upset I don't know what to do at this point" I frowned. "Well you called her a hoodrat, Lexy that was low" she shook her head in disapproval. "I know, okay I know, which is why I'm trying to fix it" my eyes started to water. Talia was like family.

Rainie gave me a hug and patted my back. "No crying okay, you apologized right?" she asked. "Yes I did" I nodded. "Then you have done your part, now it is her turn to come to you" Rainie comforted me. She was right, I couldn't deny that. "You are right" I agreed. "So I think Aaron asked me out" I grinned. "Really?" she was excited. "Yeah he asked if I wanted to come with him to the Spring Fair, just me and him". Rain's excitement came to an end. "I hope he isn't talking about the group hangout".  "Group hangout?" I asked. He had said it would be me and him. "Yeah, I mean Joseph just invited me to go with him and the boys" she replied. "Oh" I whispered.

"I'm sorry Lex, it could be a misunderstanding" I could tell she felt bad. "I think Sydney and Olivia are going too, now that I think about it" she added. Wow. "Seriously?" I was in disbelief. "Yeah, I mean you should definitely still go don't let bitchface stop you" she egged me on. "It isn't bitchface I'm worried about" I felt so dumb. "Don't overthink it boo" she hugged me tight. "It'll work out okay?" she reassured me. I nodded, even though I didn't believe her. I don't know if it was karma or something, but whatever it is, it's a bitch. As if he knew how I was feeling, I got a text from Aaron: 'Hey Alex so something has come up with the fair'. "He just texted me" I showed Rain what he sent. "That's good" she was happy. I typed back asking what was up. He sent a quick response, saying that it was looking like it would be a group activity. He apologized, so at least he has the decency to do that.

I replied saying that it was fine and that I would still go. Even though I didn't really want to. "I should have said no" I told Rainie. We began walking down the hall towards the doors. "I think it is good you kept your cool" she said to me. "Well after the morning we have had, I have to" I grumbled. "I just I do really like Aaron, you know I want to get to know him". "I know, the fair may actually be a good thing. It may not be a date but you will still get to be with him and get to talk to him" Rain said and she was right. I did want to get to know him more, so any chance I had I would take.
