Chapter 6: Making Amends

The weekend had finally rolled around and I was so thankful. It had been such a stressful week, I was ready to try and relax. I was in bed thinking of Talia. I glanced at my phone to see if she had texted. Still nothing. My mom had told me to let it rest and that when she was ready she would come to me. "Alex, honey?" my mom knocked at the door. "Come in" I yawned. "Talia is here to see you" she said. "What? Seriously?" I was surprised. It was like 10:30 in the morning, she was up early. She normally liked to sleep in. "Okay mom you can tell her to come up" I told her. " Do you think you two are going to work it out, because if you are I can heat up my casserole" she smiled at me. 

My mom's breakfast casserole was the best. "I think we will, just heat it up anyway because I'm hungry" I laughed. "Okay, I'll send her up" my mom shut the door behind her. A few minutes later Talia walked in. "Hi" she looked at me shyly. "Hey" I said curtly. "I'm sorry for being so shitty to you" she said looking at the floor. "I was shitty, I shouldn't have said that to you" I admitted. "It's okay, I was just dragging it out" she laughed nervously "you came to me and apologized and I was so rude" I could tell she felt bad. "It's okay, T I was wrong too and I'm sorry" I was glad we were making amends. "And I got a little jealous when I saw you and Aaron.   I wish Todd would have been different" If she only knew the half of it. "Yeah, well me and Aaron aren't going anywhere trust me" I laughed as she smiled at me. "What do you mean?" she asked.

I told her everything about our hangout becoming a group date. "What, seriously? And syphilis is coming to?" she gasped. We burst out laughing. "That was probably the best comeback I have heard, I was so proud of you when you said that" Talia giggled. "I missed you" I gave her a hug. "I missed you too" she hugged me tightly. "No more fights" I said happily. "Don't start any either" she wagged her finger at me. My mom knocked on the door with breakfast. "I heard some laughter, so i figured it was a good time to come in" she smiled. "Everything is good Ms. B" Talia said. "Your casserole is about to make everything so much better" I grabbed the plate from her and started to dig in. "Good, I'm happy to help" my mom disappeared from the room. 

"This is so good, hmm"Talia was happily stuffing her face. I laughed and nodded my head in agreement. "So, you should come to the fair tonight" I told Talia. "I will, I don't want to leave you hanging" she said. "Are you going to be okay with Todd there?" I was wondering how that was going. "Yeah, I'm basically about done with him, I just don't have time for it anymore you know" she sighed "I want someone that truly wants me and will not be afraid to say it" I was so proud of her. She knew when to move on or when a guy wasn't worth her time. "He is just shit, literally how he walked in with Olivia was crazy" I drank some of my water. "Yeah, that was the final straw for me" she said rolling her eyes. 

"I love you, T" she grinned at me. " I don't know what I would do without you" she gave me another hug. "I know me either, you are like a sister to me" she said. "So you and Rain seem to be getting along?" I asked. "She is actually pretty cool, honestly" Talia laughed. "I told you she was, she may have a rich side to her but she is the best" I said and Talia nodded in agreement. "So I'm thinking sleepover tonight? I can invite Rain over and we can all get ready at my house" I waited to see what Talia would say. "Oh yes, that would be fun" she was all for it. "Nice, I will call Rain now" I dialed her number putting the phone on speaker. I smiled to myself, I was so glad things were falling into place.

Aaron POV

I was on Facebook, when my doorbell started ringing. Ugh, i was battling between getting up to answer it. It rang once again. I grumbled and ran down the stairs to answer the door. Who the fuck is at my house. I swung open the door to see Sydney standing in front of it. "Hey" she said shyly her eyes raked over my body. I should have put on a shirt, damn it. "Hey Sydney, um come in" I said closing the door behind her as she stepped in. "You've been working out" she laughed. "Yeah" I smiled at her. She was so gorgeous. "So what's up?" I asked her. "I want you back Aaron" she pleaded. "What?" I was shocked. "I want to give it another shot, it will be different this time I swear to you" I could tell she was serious. "How do I know you have changed, Sydney? Seriously you broke my heart" I shouted. 

I still had so much anger, yet so much love for her. "I'm serious babe, I promise you I am" her eyes started watering. "What about the shit you said to Alex, that was out of line and not like you" I looked at her. " I was jealous okay, I knew how she felt and I freaked out" she explained. "Do you still love me?" she asked. "Fuck, yes I do I never stopped loving you" I meant every word I said to her. "Let's try to give it another shot" she grabbed my hand. "You ruined it the last time, so I am supposed to trust you now?" I was debating with myself. If I said yes, I was opening my heart up again with her. She broke me, but yet she knew so much about me. It would be easier than starting with someone new. 

"Aaron, I'm sorry baby" she kissed my hand softly. "Please I promise you I'm different, I want you only you" she looked at me with those big eyes of hers. My mind went to Alex, she was different and there could be so many good things that could happen with us. I had no idea what she was thinking, I had asked her to hangout, then my boys imposed and it became a group outing. She probably considered me an asshole as of now. What was best? Start with someone new ?Or pick up with someone who knew everything about me? I looked Sydney in the eyes as I made a decision.

 "Okay" I said quietly, "Okay what?" she asked anxiously. "I will give us another shot". She wrapped her arms around me, hugging me. "Thank you, it will be different this time" she smiled with tears in her eyes. I just hoped she truly meant it. "Let me be clear Sydney, if this ends there will be no third chances." I said firmly. "I understand" she gave me a peck on the lips. Her kiss instantly comforted me. I looked at her and gave her a hug. "I love you" she said to me. "I know, I love you too" I smiled. "So the fair tonight we are still going?" she asked happily. "Yes, of course but in the meantime we can spend some time together" I guess I was ready to try again with her.  We cuddled up on the couch, catching up on missed time. I had given her my heart again, hopefully this time she would appreciate it.
