Chapter One: Back Again

The dirt was soft and wet underfoot, it had been raining for the last week or so and Clementine was starting to get sick of it. She passed by a small pond and saw a walker stuck in the mud, its arms outstretched reaching in her direction groaning. Ignoring it Clementine continued down the pathway out of the woods. "Can I have some food?" AJ asked while trying to unzip the rucksack on Clem's back, "sure" she replied, letting him off her shoulders and taking the bag off. she handed him a granola bar and gave him a drink of water before picking him up again and walking on.

They finally got onto a road and Clementine examined their surroundings. "almost there AJ" she said as they walked past a sign that said 'RICHMOND 2.5 MILES' the two stopped at a crashed car, it had swerved off the road and was smashed into tree. Clem cautiously approached the driver's side door and took notice of the corpse in the seat, as she rounded the corner with her knife at the ready she saw that this one was dead for good. There was a large amount of dried blood on the steering wheel and dashboard, the driver's skull had been shattered by the impact of the crash and didn't pose an threat. She walked around to the trunk of the car and opened it, clothes, canned soup, a fully loaded .38 and one box of ammo. "yes!" Clem celebrated, she picked the revolver up and inspected it, it was a Ruger LCR. she stashed it in her belt and put the box of .38 special in the backpack. after taking the soup she continued on the way to Richmond

As she approached the gate two shots rang out and cracked into the ground only a few feet away from her.
"Don't come any closer!"
She looked up and saw a man hastily reloading a double barrel shotgun. she raised her hands above her head and stopped moving.
"Whats your business here?" he shouted down from the wall.
"I'm coming to see Javier, he's still in charge right?" the guard said something inaudible to the guy next to him and his buddy ran off down the ladder.
"What's your name?"
"Clementine, and this is AJ" she turned around to show the child on her back. she saw the other guard run back and start speaking to his friend.
"Alright, step closer to the gate and drop all your weapons"
She complied and began unloading her gear, she took her .38 out of her belt and tossed it on the ground, then she slid the beretta out of the chest holster and dumped her sig p250 and her Remington 870 off the strap on her shoulder.

The gates slowly opened and a man in a green jacket walked up to her, he had a thin moustache and messy brown hair "Clementine?" he said confused, he looked familiar for some reason but she couldn't put her finger on it. "you're back..with AJ" then came the realisation
"Gabe?"
