I'm so done
Those bullies, they never stop, do they?
My life is already a huge mess, considering the fact that my lovely family are all ignorant, self-obsessed, pathetic human beings.
You see, life's not easy. For me anyways. My mom's a huge workaholic. In a bad way. She works from the crack of dawn till midnight. Not only that, she'll go to the bar after work and take a few swigs to relieve her stress.
And then she gets drunk and barely gets sleep due to her hyperactiveness. Wake up the next day like a zombie. Go to work. And that's the daily cycle.
Bad enough? It's not over yet.
My dad is that stereotypical dad who does drugs and brings back hoes to sleep with. Let's not forget, he also abuses me.
Go on, laugh. I know I live a rather pathetic life. I would totally laugh at myself.
All they care about are my grades at school. Because I, as the only child of the Bravura family, is pressured greatly to achieve great results from school, grow up, get a high-paying job and take care of them. Which leads to anxiety. And getting nervous and worried about hell, or some like to call it 'school', is never good for a 16 year-old like me.
Luckily, it's summer break. Which means waking up late amd staying up late.
Sighing, I trudged my heavy feet onwards down the MyStreet lane, watching kids playing catch, adults chit-chatting and old people taking walks with their canes in the local park.
A delivery truck was parked beside the pedestrian pavement and some movers were carrying furniture in their dirt-covered hands into a newly cleaned house. I wonder who our new neighbour could be now.
Apparently, the moving company doesn't have enough manpower today so only two men were helping with the furniture. I hesitated helping but decided not to. Not that I don't want to, my dad will probably beat me up for not coming home earlier to do homework.
Since the men were outnumbered, they were slowly shifting a huge couch into the house. And that blocked the entire pavement, blocking anyone from going past.
That just means I am forced to walk through the park and around the house to get to my house.
Not that I mind.
The flora and fauna in the park isn't even bad. It's surprisingly beautiful. There were different types of ferns, a few dandelions, mimosa and more great varieties of different plants. Butterflies fly around in the air, occasionally landing on the flowers. Fish swim around in the pond in the middle of the park. It was a fantastic way to relax after such a rough day at school.
Admiring the scenery, I bumped into something or someone carelessly, landing on my lower back. I might be hallucinating but did I hear a crack too?
Turns out it was a suave boy with thick black hair and black sparkly eyes. He frowned with concern and stretched out a hand towards me. I held it and he pulled me back on my feet.
"I'm sorry. I-I should've been more careful. Thank you for help me." I stuttered.
WTF is 'thank you for help me'? For the love of Irene, Aphmau! What were you thinking?
He let out a small laugh and said,"Haha, no worries. I was also staring at the nature here."
I smiled slightly and the both of us just stood there silently for a good 10 seconds before he broke the silence.
"My name's Aaron. You?"
"Aphmau." I answered.
"Interesting name. It's unique. I like it." He praised.
"Thanks. Most people make fun of me for it," I paused,"I haven't seen you around here. Are you new?"
"Yeah, I'm actually moving in." Aaron replied, using his index finger to point at the new house.
"Ah, I see. I have to go now. See you around."
"See you, Aphmau."
I briskly walked past him and headed to my house. I couldn't stop thinking about him as I walked. He was cute and handsome. Eye-candy material.
Oh Irene, why am I thinking about him like that? A light red shade appeared on my cheeks. I quicken my footsteps.
Better get home before Dad hurls unkind things at me.
