Secret Relationship: An Aphmau AU

11. A Turn of Events

A/N: So sorry for not updating but school started a day ago in my country so I can't update as quickly as before! Hope you guys understand. :/ Also, thanks for supporting the story! :)

It was break time and as usual, Katelyn is sitting with the popular clique at their table in the middle of the cafeteria. Jenny was still crazy about Aaron. The rest of the girls were pretending to nod and agree with her.

"I'm going to the toilet." Katelyn told the girls. They nodded and proceeded to talk. Or at least Jenny did. The rest were fiddling with their nails or looking at their phones.

Instead of walking straight ahead, Katelyn took a 45 degree turn and headed towards the table at the far end corner where Aphmau was. She was sitting alone, biting on a Snickers bar. She waved to Katelyn when she saw her approaching.

"Hey, Katie. What's up?"

"Did you see what happened yesterday at 12?" Katelyn asked, eagerly.

"Probably not. Why?"

"I blew Kai off and I have the sex tape in my hands. I think I'm going to go to the police today!"

"OMG REALLY?" Aphmau squealed, jumping up from her seat.

Half of the students turned towards her and scrunched their eyebrows.

"Sit down!" Katelyn pulled the girl back down in her seat. Aphmau was still fidgeting in excitement.

"You're finally getting justice!"

"I know!"

The two girls continued chatting excitedly about Katelyn's visit to the police station later on in the day.

"I can't wait to see Kai arrested! Even better if it's in front of the entire fucking school!" Aphmau whisper-shouted to Katelyn.

"Or is he?"

Both of them turned their heads to the direction of the voice and immediately gasped in shock.

"Kai!"

"How much have you heard?"

Kai slipped into the seat opposite Katelyn and put his tray down on the table. He picked out a bag of cool ranch Doritos from his tray, opened it and began munching on it.

"Want some?" Kai asked, holding out his bag of chips.

Katelyn didn't reply but stared at him coldly. Aphmau slammed her bag of chips in front of Kai to indicate that she had one on her own.

"Calm down, girl."

Aphmau rolled her eyes and proceeded to open her drink packet.

"What do you want, Kai?" Katelyn asked, crossing her arms across her chest.

"What?"

"I asked you what the hell do you want."

"I want you, of course."

Katelyn scoffed, which caused Kai to frown.

"You betrayed me, Katelyn. And all I asked was for you to come back to me. Is that so hard?"

"Yes, yes it is. But cut straight to the damn point." Katelyn snapped.

"Fine. I won't be going to jail. The one in my phone was the extra copy."

Katelyn does not seem to be fazed at all.

"I still have it. Doesn't matter if you have another one. If I show it to the police, you're still over."

"Or do you still have it?"

This time Katelyn scowled and Kai smirked.

She immediately searched through her pockets for her phone.

"Where's my phone?" She murmured to herself.

"Right here in my hands."

When Katelyn looked up, Kai was indeed holding her phone. She recognised her pastel blue cover and her matching pop socket that she got from her father for her 15th birthday.

She tried to snatch it out of his hand but he was too fast for her.

But Aphmau was too fast for Kai.

She managed to take Katelyn's phone out of his hand and hand it over to Katelyn.

She typed in her password and searched through her gallery for the video.

"Fuck..."

"Now you know. I'll give you a month. You have to break up with your boyfriend and come back to me." Kai winked at her before taking his tray and leaving.

"THAT FUCKING BASTARD!" Aphmau screamed, once again sending dirty glances her way.

Katelyn sighed and rested her elbows on the table. She put her head in her hands and pulled at her hair.

"How?"

"We're gonna report it to the police anyway."

"Why? We don't have evidence to prove we're right." Katelyn cried.

"Can you not always think of the negative sides, Katelyn? I know it's rather hypocritical of me to say but we will find a way. Having a little hope isn't bad, you know?" Aphmau tried encouraging.

"I feel sick." Katelyn whispered to her before standing up and stuffing her phone in her pocket.

"I can send you to the nurse's office?"

"No need. Thanks." Katelyn threw Aphmau a weak smile. She twisted her ponytail into a bun and pinned it down with bobby pins. Then, she headed for the nearest toilet and vomitted the rest of her lunch away.
