Chapter 9

 The weekend was a blur.

 All I could think of was Austin. He didn't answer my calls or texts the whole weekend, even when it was on. So I knew he was mad.

 The only thing that distracted me was either cleaning or being in my room. I didn't want to be near Ashley because she's such a bitch. Does she not want me happy and make me her slave?!

I decided to wake up early cause I was going to school no matter what and I had to face the music, and not hide under the covers.

 I did my normal morning routine, and decided to straighten my hair and took my time picking out my clothes. I added a bit of foundation and mascara and attempted  to try eyeliner - which was a horrible idea. It ended up being smudged on my cheeks and leaving my eyes bloodshot red.

After cleaning myself up I jogged downstairs and darted to the kitchen where I found a glaring Ashley ; her natural face.

 I avoided my gaze from her, and she picked up on the gesture leaving the kitchen. Did she know I was mad?

 A door slammed shaking me out of my thoughts. I went into the living room only to find a note. I picked it up and attempted to read the messy handwriting

I'm going to get more Lipo so don't wait for me tonight,

I sighed and crumbled the note and tossed in the waste bin and headed outside. 

 The wind blew my hair violently against my face as I walked. The weather was beautiful the sun was out  and there was no cloud in sight. I put my ear buds in and turned on shuffle and a song by 5SOS came on.  They were singing something about looking perfect in their underwear? Weird but catchy.

 I finally saw my school in sight and anticipation bubbled up in my stomach. I blew out a breath and wiped my hands on my pants to get rid of  the sweat and went inside. my hair finally tamed.

 I was just about to enter the classroom books in hand when somebody grabbed me and pushed me against the wall making my books falling everywhere.

 Carla Williams. Ugh, she's so fucking annoying.

 Carla and her crew surrounded me. She crossed her arms and glared at me so hard that I wouldn't be surprised if it turned me into stone.

"What the fuck do you think your doing?" She snapped, looking at me like she was gonna rip my head off.

"W...what are you talking about?" I said terrified.

"You know damn well what shes talking about!" Sara spat at me.

"I don't know what your talking about?" I tried to stay calm.

"Don't lie you little bitch!" Yelled Carla stepping towards me. She was so close I could smell her rotten breath. "You and Austin yesterday, what the fuck was that about?" She started with a terrifying voice.

"Nothing. It was a date but, but I didn't come..." I said honestly, hoping she would back off.

"You lying bitch," Laughed Nancy. "We saw his Facebook status and he said he had a good time."

What?

"I didn't, I stood him up .But I didn't mean to..." Carla grabbed my hair and pulled so hard that left me thinking if my scalp was bleeding or not.

 "Austin Summers is mine. MINE! You hear me? Mine!" She yelled like a maniac. "Don't you dare touch him, don't talk to him, just don't even fucking look at him! You're a waste of air Laila, I bet your father is sorry because he didn't abandon you when he could and run off with that slut of a stepmother. Your a disappointment!" Her words were cutting deep into my soul, hurting me.

 She let go of my hair and punched me. She actually punched me!?! I could feel warm blood running down my nose and into my mouth. Blood soaked my tongue with that nasty copper taste.The pain in my nose was unbearable how much it hurt and everything became fuzzy, but I could see through my blurry eyes that she was going to hit me again.

She swung again, I was expecting another broken bone, or at least a bruise but the hit never came.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" I heard a cold familiar voice.

I opened my eyes and saw that someone grabbed Carla's hand.

 It was Alexis.
