background: this is like a journey-story. just a spontaneously-thought-of oneshot of the start of a relationship.

-

It was casual. Jesy and Perrie were just going to have a quick stop at Nando's before heading over to Leigh's for a sleepover. It wasn't a date; it was just two friends having dinner together.

It went smoothly. They both undeniably flirted throughout their conversations, though, which made it seem more like a date than it really was. Their feelings for one another weren't something they could deny, but they had done a pretty good job at hiding it from everyone else, minus each other. Constant flirting was a giveaway of their feelings, but it gave the two of them a sense of thrill to play these types of games.

As the dinner came to an end, the two girls split the bill and walked to the car hand in hand. They stood in front of it, not yet getting in. Their eyes were lost in one another's, and Jesy took the opportunity to set her hands on Perrie's shoulders and take her chance. She leaned in and pressed their lips together, not being able to resist the urge to kiss the girl she'd been flirting with for months.

They split apart, and smiled at one another for just a second before getting in the car.

From there, they didn't acknowledge the kiss, and didn't bring it up. Instead of coming to terms with what was going on, they decided to play a few more games with each other. Sneaking around to make out like irresponsible teenagers became their thing. Any time they had the chance, they would pull the other to the side and enjoy the feeling of being together. They teased one another, but never went farther than that. It was an unspoken agreement that they wouldn't advance bases until they were officially together.

Nothing was stopping them from making the relationship official, but the thrill of sneaking around was addictive. They'd even manage it at sleepovers.

"Hey, I'm going to the bathroom," Jesy stood up from the group's circle, sending Perrie a wink as she walked to the bathroom and left the door open a crack.

"Oh, I left my phone charger in my bag. I'll be right back," Perrie got up and paced to the bathroom, quietly shutting the door behind her before wrapping her arms around Jesy's neck and smashing their lips together. It was a hungry, passionate kiss, but one that they fought to keep quiet for the sake of being caught.

Jesy split apart for a second, breathless as she rested her forehead against Perrie's, "Why do we keep doing this?"

"Why not?" Perrie pulled their lips back together, moving Jesy to be pressed up against the wall.

"You've got a point," Jesy said between kisses, getting carried away by the lust she felt.

Any point in time where they could manage to kiss, they would. It carried on for two months straight. Once had they gotten away with people catching them, but only as a very fortunate dare that Jesy was given during a game of Truth or Dare with the group and the dancers.

"Alright, Jesy, truth or dare?" Jade asked her bandmate, who was never one to back down from a dare.

"Dare." Jesy responded confidently.

Jade smirked, "I dare you to kiss Perrie." She obviously didn't know about their little outings and sneak-offs, so she was very proud of her dare.

"It'd be a pleasure," Jesy said honestly, though everyone took it as a joke. She looked across at Perrie, who was sat on the other side of the circle. Crawling towards her, she gave her a playful smile before sitting herself in front of her, setting her hands atop Perrie's legs, and leaning in. They kissed for a few long seconds, earning quite a rowdy reaction from everyone else, who thought this was a one-time thing.

Another month passed. Three months of Perrie and Jesy sneaking around. It was fun, but became tiring when the sneaking-around situation intertwined their feelings, and they both began to crave something more than spontaneous make-out sessions. It became too stressful, and though the adrenaline was amazing, they wanted a normal relationship with each other. They wanted to call each other cute names and be able to show them off. They wanted to be able to go on real dates. They wanted an end to all the relentless teasing of one another.

Three months and four days passed since their first kiss. Jesy called Perrie and scheduled a date at the Nando's they went to that first night. A real date. Jesy clarified.

Perrie was more than happy to be sitting with Jesy at the same booth of the restaurant, flirting to her heart's content and to the best of her abilities.

"So, how've you been?" Jesy asked, a smile and a twinkle in her eyes as she looked at the girl she was falling ever-so hard for.

"Better now that I'm with you," Perrie smiled, taking a sip of her drink.

"Is that so?" Jesy blushed, but tried to make it seem like she was completely confident.

"Well, you make everything better." Perrie told her.

"You happen to make everything better, too." Jesy grinned, "You know, as much history as we have, and for the time that we've known each other, I still feel like I'm making a first impression."

"Same! It feels like... new. Not in a bad way, but it feels like we're starting fresh."

"Yeah," Jesy nodded, "It's hard to explain." The butterflies she felt while sitting in front of the most beautiful girl she'd ever seen we're triple the ones she had previously felt. Every time she was with Perrie, she'd feel a bit more, but being on a real date with her filled her with endless nerves and first-date jitters.

Perrie felt the same. She was coming across like she was keeping her cool, but she just wanted to squeal and jump up and down like a little kid. She was so close to getting the girl of her dreams, and was planning to ask that question later in the night.

The two girls spent the rest of dinner flirting and joking with one another. They ended the meal just like the first, then walked out to the car and stood in the familiar spot in front of it.

"So..." Jesy said.

"So..." Perrie laughed.

"So, I'm going to get right to the point. I like you, a lot, Perrie. I really, really like you." Jesy felt like a teenager again, head over heels for someone and confessing her love for them. Her heart beat out her chest, but she was more confident now. She was more mature in handling whatever could happen next.

Perrie smiled, "I really, really like you, too, Jesy. And I don't see why we keep sneaking off when we could just—"

"Yeah." Jesy nodded.

It was silent for a few moments as both the girls stared at the ground, their eyes wandering as they got too nervous to speak.

"Will you go out with me?"

Both girls were too drowned by the sound of their own voice asking the question to realize that they'd both asked each other the same thing. Breaking the ice was a laugh from both of them.

"Yes," Jesy nodded, "That's all I could ever ask for."

"I also say yes," Perrie chuckled, "I have been wanting to call you my girlfriend for so long."

"Girlfriend," Jesy grinned, "I like that." She let her hands hold Perrie's jacket as she pulled the blonde in for a kiss.
