background: Perrie and Jesy have apartments in the same building, they've never met, but they know that the other exists. Jesy's room is right above Perrie's.

Jesy sat on her couch, mindlessly surfing through channels, not really finding anything good to watch. She sprawled out across the couch and tried Netflix, remaining unsuccessful. She groaned and clicked on some horror movie she didn't bother reading the description of. As she was just getting lost in it, she heard a few muffled whimpers. She turned the volume down and listened, hearing what appeared to be quiet sobs. Normally she would just turn the volume up and go about her day, but her heart wrenched.

She knew the girl below her, Perrie was her name. They'd crossed paths once and said hello, but that was basically all. She did think Perrie was incredibly pretty, though, and maybe it was time to initiate a friendship. She was quite lonely anyways.

Jesy grabbed her room key and walked out, running downstairs to the room right below hers. Gently, she placed three knocks on the door.

Perrie sat up and wiped her face free of tears. She prayed someone wasn't coming to yell at her or something, she had enough of that already today. Reluctantly, she walked to the door and opened it up.

Jesy was quick to notice Perrie's puffy eyes and red cheeks, making her heart twist even more. "Hi, I'm sorry to bother you, but I heard you crying and I was just wondering if you were alright." She said, her voice soft and sincere.

Perrie relaxed at her words, "I-I'm okay. Was I being too loud, though? I'm so sorry."

"No, no it's fine. D-do you want to talk about it? I could try to help, maybe?"

Perrie realized how genuine the statement was, and how much Jesy meant it. She looked down before responding, noticing Jesy was in mismatched socks, obviously showing she rushed down here. "N-not right now, but thank you. It really means a lot."

"Okay, well, could I give you a hug for now?" Jesy asked, opening her arms a little.

The slightest smile made its way on to Perrie's face as she nodded, "Yeah, that'd be nice." She wrapped her arms around Jesy's waist and Jesy wrapped her arms around Perrie's shoulders.

Perrie sunk into Jesy's embrace, absorbing the warm and comfortable feeling of it. She hadn't had such a nice hug ever, she never really wants it to end.

Jesy smiled when she felt Perrie rest her head over her shoulder, Jesy squeezed a little tighter in return, wanting to make sure Perrie felt cared for.

Once the two parted away, Jesy spoke up, "Would you like to come by? We could watch a movie and eat snacks. Maybe it'll get your mind off what's bothering you."

Perrie now smiled a little wider as she nodded, "That'd be awesome, thank you so much." She grabbed her phone and Jesy took her hand in hers, guiding the blonde to her apartment. She walked inside and shut the door behind her.

"Oh, sorry about this." Jesy quickly picked up the remote and turned off the television, not wanting to scare Perrie.

"It's okay," Perrie chuckled, "Wow, how do you keep your place so clean? Mine's a mess."

"Well all I really do is sit on the couch and do nothing, so I don't know." Jesy laughed lightly, "Anyways, come see, you can help me pick out snacks." Jesy was treating Perrie as if she'd known her for years, when she'd only really been speaking to her for a few minutes. Perrie appreciated this gesture, it made her feel cared for, which is something she wasn't quite feeling lately.

Perrie nodded and made her way over to Jesy's kitchen, standing by her side and looking at he variety of snacks in Jesy's cabinet. She picked out a few and the two walked back over to the couch where Jesy had already sat down. Jesy patted the spot next to her to which Perrie sat down in, keeping a bit of space between them.
