Chapter 10 - Logic

Also thank you soooo much for over 700 views! That is absolutely amazing! I never would have thought that this would happen when I started writing this book! I mean I still can't believe is because I honestly think this book is pretty trash.

Also I'm sorry that I don't update frequently. I was just on a holiday and I couldn't write anything and this book is so confusing to write because I want to create something different but also give you guys what you want. And I'm really proud of this chapter.     Enjoy xx

POV: Nancy

"Hi mom," I say quickly dashing downstairs before she can ask any questions.

She looks at me confused.

"Wait! Nancy! Whats Jonathan doing here!?" she calls after me.

"Don't worry about it!" I call back.

I burst into Mikes room. Sine Eleven will be staying here for a couple of weeks Mike moved into the basement and Eleven moved into Mike's old room. Mom didn't exactly want them sleeping in the same room.

"Oh shit Nancy you scared me."

He sees the concerned look on my face.

"What wrong?"

"Call your nerdy friends and Eleven and tell them to come over right now!"

"Nancy what happened?"

"Just call them!"

"Okay okay!"

**skip time it took for his friends to come over

"So tell us exactly what happened," Mike says.

"Me and Nancy were heading back from school when we heard a girl screaming," Jonathan explains, "So we ran into the woods and saw her being dragged by vines into a huge crack in the ground.

"Like Upside Down vines?" Asks Lucas.

"Exactly," I say.

Jonathan continues, "So when we finally get her free she asks us what it was and tells us that she couldn't see it."

"And it's not just in the woods. Before, in school, we saw a crack in the ground and librarian couldn't see it either," I add.

"But I thought that El closed the gate. Didn't you El?" Says Dustin.

"I did," she murmurs under her breath.

"Then how did the vines get out?" Will asks.

"I have no idea," I say.

"I do," Dustin says.

We all turn to him waiting for an answer.

"What is it?" Max asks impatiently.

"Well it's like before when the lab was burning the upside down to stop it from spreading. It grew underground to keep itself alive."

"Like a defence mechanism," Lucas says.

"But what is it defending itself against?" Will asks.

"Thats where I was confused at first. But now I know. Its trapped. It has no where to go. It was spreading through out world and now that has been pushed back into the upside down. Maybe, just maybe, there isn't enough room."

"I don't get it," says Mike.

"It's like roots of a tree. If there isn't enough room for it to then it will destroy whatever is in it's path to keep on growing. Now pretend that the soil is the upside down and above ground it our world and the soil is too dense for it to grow. The roots of the tree will grow upwards and grow through the soil and into the air."

"So, now that there isn't anywhere to go, its growing into our world, even though the gate's closed," exclaims Lucas.

"It's destroying it," Eleven says, "The upside down, it's destroying the gate."
