Chapter 9 - Chasing Death

"So... Explain to me again why you slapped my beta?" I had been sat in Josh's office for the past 20 minutes since I got back from the lake with Niall. Josh hasn't stopped laughing. I don't understand why.

"HE KISSED ME! He said he'd be okay adopting children with me! Who does that?! Hes known me what? Less than a week!" I'd been screaming similar phrases for the past... since I burst in here. Luckily for me, he had finished his talk with Marie. Considering what he had done a few hours ago, my misfortune with his beta seemed to cheer him up significantly.

"And why did you feel the need to rush back here and tell me?" His question stunned me. Why had I come to tell him? 'I think that deep down... You know why.' 

Rooting through my brain, I came up short. There must be at least one logical explanation. Just then, a light bulb sprang to life in my head. The perfect explanation. "Well, you're his alpha!"

"And whats that got to do with anything?" The smirk on his face was growing by the minute. 

"I don't know! Give him detention, shout at him... Do what an alpha does turtles sake! Don't you think I deserve some sort of apology?!" My attempts to create some form of justice weren't going the way I had planned... "Ive got it! How would you feel about helping me get even with Niall, in a way that benefits everyone? We will all get a good laugh out of it! And... Its not... too painful."

The expression on my face must have been enthusiastic, it seemed to rub off on Josh too. "What did you have in mind?"

My happiness radiated into a smile pure euphoria. "So... being alpha, does that mean that people in the pack do whatever you say, if you give them orders? And if you told them to keep it a secret that you had ordered them, would they have to do that?"

"I suppose so..." He trailed off allowing me to fill him in on my plan.

After preparing the essentials for my plan (Telling Josh what to tell everyone to do), I walked back towards my room, stopping a room early and knocking on the door.

"Come in..." Her voice was definitely unsettled. She must be torn after what had happened this morning.

I filed into Marie's room, sat down on the bed and handed her a tissue from the box that she had her back to. "Here, Josh told me what happened. I'm not going to ask you if you're okay, because you obviously aren't. My job here, is to make you feel better. Now take this tissue." 

She blew her nose on the tissue and tossed it in a bin - that was full of other used tissues - at the side of her bed. "Thanks. So, whats the plan then? I doubt you can cheer me up right now." She looked like convinced by her words.

"I'm going to cheer you up, the only way I see possible; and no, it isn't a dart board with pictures of him on." What I had used as a serious comment seemed to make her chuckle. 'Well, this whole cheering up thing might be easier than you thought.' "We, my dear friend, are going to do what all people do after a break up... I think. We're going to put that Ipod of yours on full blast and build a fort!"

The look on her face told me she thought that I was mad. "And that is going to cheer me up how?"

"Well, it'll be fun to make; and then we can watch a kick-ass movie without being disturbed! How wouldn't that cheer you up?!" I was officially baffled.

"You really are unique. Has anyone ever told you that? Usually people become personal therapists in these sorts of situations." Amazement was the look on her face. Was my response to her break up not what everyone did?

"Who wants to bring up the one thing that made you sad? Sure, you shouldn't ignore it, but you should be doing something fun whilst you talk about it or your mood could just get to the point of depression, and you shouldn't be depressed! Show him that you don't need him to be happy! You are an independent, young woman who doesn't need a man by her side to feel complete!" I always thought of myself as a good adviser. I was without a doubt impressed by my speech, any person who had just been through a break up should feel the way I that I had just described.

Marie looked at me for a few moments before bursting into laughter and stripping the sheets off of her bed. "Making a fort it is then!"

That night was the most fun I had had since I got to this pack. Maybe life here wouldn't be so bad. All that I had to do know was figure out a way to beat Danny

[A/N] mwahahahahahaaaa!! you dont know her plans for Niall!! They will obviously be in the next chapter though so you wont be waiting too long!

So what do you all think shes gonna do to get back at him then? :P

Me and Reffiney257 decided that we are all going to make an army called the tortilla slapping army and go after Danny! Any of you that want to join, please but some tortillas and get ready to slap Danny hahaha

Those of you who dont... shame on you! Reffiney257 is gonna hunt you down and slap you with a tortilla full of fish!

This one is Christina Grimmie - Advice. Chose it cos obv the title says its about advice and Bobbie sorta gives Marie some and the chorus lyrics say "Dont let go of good times and let the bad ones know you feel fine" And I personally think thats really good lyrics for the song :D
