Louis' POV

I can hear the muttering under his breath as he scratched at his scalp almost too painfully and I couldn't watch any longer.

"Mate, would you please stop pulling on your hair like that? It's driving me insane!" I tell Liam as he swivels his chair away from his laptop to face me.

"Driving you insane? What about me? I'm the one slowly going crazy everytime I'm a step closer to finding out what we're dealing with" he sneers at me getting up from his position.

Ever since I came to visit Liam a few days ago when Marilyn was in a coma, he's been acting very strange and it was only a matter of time I would investigate. I, of course a true friend, came back to check on him. I knew he was hiding something from us when the moment I saw the notebook that he clutched inside his robe a few nights ago. I couldn't leave him in this state.

Liam worked wonders to keep this from me but I finally managed to make him confess what he's been hiding from us.

He cracked the code from what this dark stranger had left on his laptop only a few weeks back. Knowing Liam I knew I should've checked on him before, he could easily translate Latin. It just finally took a long time for him to recover from it and inform us.

"Liam, look man, you don't have to do this anymore"

"You think I have a choice? Did you not listen to a single word I said?" His anger was getting the best of him as he paced back and forth around his room. I've never seen him in this state, even as close as we were.

"Liam-"

"He's trying to get in my head, t-those words that were typed on my laptop? Was some sort of spell so this 'jackass' can speak to me telepathically" and without a giving warning, he punches the nearest wall next to him. His fist makes a hole on the wall, the loudest thing you can hear in this noisy-less room.
I couldn't imagine what Liam was going through. This is his second time having a breakdown, or so I at least thought it was. Even though I wasn't there, he did manage to ruined his Batman radio when it was supposedly 'speaking' to him, calling out his name and all. We were close friends and seeing him like this only made me pity him.

"Okay okay-" I then noticed blood dripping from his knuckles as soon as he spins around me to face me. "Mate you're bleeding let's get that taken care of, okay?" Thankfully, he agrees but he was hard to read. It was like he was spaced out as he didn't utter another word when we entered his bathroom.

Liam sits on the toilet seat as I examined his hand, a white rag next to his sink catches my attention and I use it to stop the bleeding.

"Alcohol?" I asked.

"In there" he points under his sink as I bend down to reach for it.

"I'm sorry I snapped. It's just driving me insane" Liam explains rubbing his temple.

"It's fine, mate no need to apologize. I can't imagine what you're seeing or hearing from this bastard but I swear to you; we will find out what he wants" he winces at the contact of alcohol placed on his bleeding knuckles, "sorry."

"And if we don't? What if he never goes away? I can be sent to an asylum or some shit" the pit in my stomach drops as I anxiously get nervous. Liam being sent to an asylum? I would fight to my last breath before letting that happen.

"We'll figure it out, I promise." I said but I wasn't sure if I believed it myself.
