just fyi I wrote this way before Harry's album came out. Before I knew he was gonna name one if his songs Sunflower😆
Marcel's POV
"Did you really bring him flowers?" Louis ask as we both get out of his car.
"Sunflowers, and yes I did. His dog died, and I hear these represent happiness and loyalty-which in fact are common in dogs" I smiled fondly at the gift I was going to give to Niall.
"Oh yeah, there's happiness in this situation" he remarks sarcastically.
We never really hung out with Niall since that time Marilyn helped his girlfriend go somewhere peaceful. He was a bit closer to Louis though, they somehow headed off to a good start and since then became friends. So when Louis received a text message from Niall saying that he was feeling down I convinced him we should tend to his aid. Louis wasn't much for being sympathetic towards sad people because he didn't really know how to approach them.
Well, he never told me that but it clearly shows. So, I dragged him along just for him to get an idea.
Louis groans beside me as we grow closer to Niall's house.
I didn't know what to say to Niall, honestly. We never were close and I'm now realizing it's hard to make friends without Marilyn around. The closest friend I ever got was a girl name Ava but she also happens to be another story I never really got comfortable around to talk about.
When Harry was alive he was usually the one who would start a conversation with someone, and become friends with them almost immediately. While I stood in the background learning and observing. Guess it never stuck with me. Now I'm friends with someone who's a proud delinquent and another who can talk to the dead, and even I don't know how that happen.
Louis was the one who knocked on the door before it's ripped open then none other the blonde haired boy himself. His hair, though, was a drizzled mess and he wore a dirty black shirt and blue boxers. Clearly seeing his dog's death has affected him.
"Louis? Marcel? The hell you guys doing here?" His voice cracks just a little. It became very clear I was the one who had to speak up but I was left surprise when Louis cut me off. "We've came to grief with you my friend" He smiles forcibly.
I rolled my eyes at him as I remembered I still had his flowers in my hands so I held them out for him to take.
"What is this?" Naill questions.
"Well, you've texted Louis your dog died so we thought-"
"He thought, not me" Louis interjects pointing out my mistake.
"Right, I thought it'd be a nice gesture to bring you sunflowers" I finished.
Niall gave me a quizzical look and carefully taking the flowers off my hands.
"I told him not to" Louis says shrugging.
"...thank you?"
"I don't need emotional support if that's why you guys are doing here. I'm fine" Niall says letting us enter his home as he walks in to the living room. He ends up leaving the sunflower plant on top his coffee table.
His new house was much more decorated since the last time I was here. There were no more boxes or styrofoams on the floors which almost left me to trip on some when I first entered his home a while back.
Niall flops down on his couch. Potato chips and empty cans of pop scattered around the floor.
"Look mate, you haven't been in school for four weeks" Louis says soon after swatting away Niall's legs to sit down next to him.
