It is that time of year to disguise ourselves into something we'd wish to be or just wear a murderer mask just to scare little ones. I don't know but I love Halloween.

Glistening colorful lights and ornaments hung upon the ceiling through each corner of the book store. Smell of cinnamon was usually airborne in that place but this time it felt that Halloween was close. Shops that neighbored us also filled the same collection of anything fun and scary. It's weird to think I love this holiday when all I mostly see are spirits that come and go.

There was a week before Halloween and usually the night before Halloween my mother and I throw a small gathering with her friends, her and I. I was pretty excited this year though, because I can actually invite a friend to the party without it all being my mother's friends. Of course through the following years I never really invited no one because I literally didn't have no one. Not this year. But if Marcel or Louis did not want to attend I'd surely love to hang out with them on wherever they set a place upon. I mean I thought it would be weird if I had ask them if they wanted to come to my mother's Halloween party. Yeah...that'll probably be too creepy.

Old ladies and three teenagers...definitely not a great mixture of combination.

So I guess I might have to break a tradition this year, if my mother were okay with it of course. Although her ideal of my highschool experiences is get out there and make friends and that is what I am doing.

Speaking of Halloween I wondered if Elouise would do something this year because she ever hardly does. I means sure she goes to see her family on Christmas but only on that specific holiday. I don't even know if she liked Halloween or Thanksgiving. All I knew was that she did her homework every single day.

As of now she was checking out a customer while I had unload a bunch of new books on the top shelf. She seemed okay for the moment but her smile easily disappeared after saying her bye's to a customer. I worried for her, but I also knew she wasn't one to talk about her feelings much so I made sure just to make a great decent conversation with her so she can rid those mysterious thoughts out of her way.

"Hey El, how do you like the store so far? Decorated all myself, thought it'll be a great way to attract more customers" I lightly smiled at her. She looked back at me and manage to curve up a smile also but I knew better that she had to try.

The smile faded and her eyes looked down as if she lost every energy light behind those bright blue eyes. "It's perfect. Thank you Marilyn" again she miserably smile.

Our conversation ended just like that which really set my mind to wonder and figure out what has gotten into her. Why was she always giving out those little broken smiles? I knew the minute when they started to curve up and mainly frown afterwards that she was definitely hiding something. I could never bring up the topic because I knew her and if anyone knew if she didn't want to talk about her emotions then that'll be me.

When I had finished up the job I heard the bell rung from above the door that came through. I turn to see Marcel there with a happily wide smile. He seemed to get taller everytime I saw him.
"Hey Marilyn, I have to make a quick phone call. Mind taking over?" El says in a weird tone as if she wanted to breakdown right now.
