How do I win against someone so powerful? I've always been stronger, relying on my strength and my power to win, but now the same power will be my greatest detriment without the ability to back it up.
Game Over.
How did Frisk do it? They were able to kill Sans so many times, when even not trying makes him an impossible fight for most. Up against the wall so many times, nothing but the will do the 'right thing', even against Azriel in his most powerful form, but it wasn't anything like this. Nothing like this.
Game Over.
Sans isn't talking anymore, though I don't know what he could say with how little he must know about me now. Flashing through the world, dying before a second in one place is spent, enough to give anybody a migraine, it would give me one too if my eyes didn't reset back each time.
Game Over.
I load back into the cycle, slowly forgetting myself-
Game Over.
My Birthday-
Game Over.
My life.
Game Over.
But I can't just give up, give in to Sans' plan, I have to fight.
Game Over.
But how? I race through my memories, trying to remember all I can. All I can really remember now is-
Game Over.
My mission, the runs I've done, the way I've killed so many, yet something is still pulsing inside of me. The more I think about my mission, the more I want to finish it, the stronger the pull seems, something I've never really noticed before. Feeling the Determination growing inside of me, the will and drive to win, to complete my task.
Game Over.
The more and more I felt it grow, it gave me a feeling I always had, but really failed to notice. The feeling of complete loss, being at rock bottom, it allowed me to see a glimpse into the true nature, like gaining a new ability, scraping into the true potential of Determination. I thought it was just a way to have immortality, but there seems to be so much more to it than that.
Game Over.
The Toy Knife, the tool I used to kill Undyne, a weapon with no real use for battle, but it always worked.
Game Over.
Like the power of Determination, not just giving me the ability to save and load, but to grow stronger, an instrument of manipulation, pure power used in the hands of its wielder.
Game Over.
The Burnt Pan, not even denting. The Stick, not even snapping. A Toy Knife able to pierce through the toughest of Royal Guard armor.
Game Over.
I've been able to do feats unimaginable through this ability, but it has so much to offer, where I've only been able to scratch the surface of the power I could wield.
Game Over.
Where the more determined I am, the stronger the force I can bend the world to is emitted. I can beat Sans, but I need more power.
Game Over.
My mission, the remnants of memory I still retain, of Sans, beating him over and over, sometimes hundreds of times in one run.
Game Over.
He does not have the abilities that I have.
Game Over.
Even if he has the abilities of the entire underground, it means nothing!
... But it refused.
I was sitting there, feeling the untamed power, my SOUL filled with more Determination than ever. I get up, pulling the spear out of my chest, tossing it to the ground as I clench my knife, jumping at Sans, hearing the tiles collapse into the ground, straining my legs with the power running through them, but not breaking. He leaped back as I was flying through the air, but I wasn't trying to hit him with the knife. I swing the knife as hard as I can, channeling the determination through it, sending a wave of red energy hurtling through the air, heading straight down the path the knife was on, quickly catching up to Sans. Sans teleports away right before the wave hit him, and as I landed, I looked back to see him standing there. I immediately spin around and jump towards him again, shattering the tiles beneath me, and this time he didn't teleport before I tackled him to the ground.
I was looking over him, the anger overpowering my thoughts. As I spoke I knew I was screaming, but I didn't want to stop. "You are nothing! I've killed you countless times before, this time will be no different!" I grabbed my knife with both hands as I rose it above my head, about to slam it down on him before he started to talk again.
"you're right, nothing is really different in this timeline, is it, kid. me versus you. an eternal fight lasting a fraction of a day spanning across centuries. All that has really changed is the skill sets each of us possess. though you still have a lot to learn about the intricacies of what determination can really do. you thought you were just scratching the surface of your potential when you made that blast, or amplified your jump, hehe, you're not even close to the surface, you haven't even entered the atmosphere. and if i have anything to say about it, you'll never get any closer... well that should have been enough time."
"Enough time for what?!"
He looked straight at me, almost mockingly. "never could help not knowing something, could you?"
I was about to slam down the knife when he vanished again. I looked back to see him at the end of the hall in the doorway, waving before walking towards the barrier. I can't let him escape, I won't! I started running down the Judgement Hall, swinging my knife, launching another blast down in front of me to widen the doorway. I run in the room, waiting for all of the ash to clear, and just as it did I heard someone yell.
"There she is! Fire!" I looked towards the sound to see two... humans. Armed military at Sans' side, pointing guns at me. Bullets can't hurt me now, not enough to save them. I start swinging my right arm to kill them all when I hear a gun fire, but I didn't realize that it wasn't just an ordinary bullet until my arm stopped swinging and started to go numb. They were tranq darts. I quickly grabbed the knife with my left hand and tried to swing, but before I could get halfway my left arm got shot with a dart. I started to feel woozy, but I wasn't going to be stopped by this again. I started to try and swing again, tightly grabbing my knife with both hands, neither of which I could feel, but right as I reeled back, I was shot by four more darts to the chest.
I fell on my knees, unable to keep myself up, my eyes couldn't keep open, I'd lost almost all feeling. As I fell down, fighting to stay awake, the only thing I could hear was the beginning of a conversation between the cops and Sans before I fell out of consciousness.
"Oh my god, was that what we were called for?"
"yeah, it's a long story. we might want to get her away from here, she could wake up at almost any time."
"We'll get right on that, mister~?"
"the name's Sans."
"Okay, Sans, do you know anything about her? Like a name?"
Although drowned out by my senses dulling, I could hear Sans' jacket move, shrugging at the men.
"beats me."
