We stood around ten feet apart, the man still in his stance. A mimicking smile appeared on my face as I got ready. "Deal."

I threw myself at him, knife ready. But at the last second he jumped aside, dodging the knife and spinning in the air, landing a direct kick to the part of my shield covering my face. It didn't hurt, but the force alone and the unexpected outcome allowed me to get thrown back. He didn't skip a beat, and even as I was being knocked back I could hear him landing and spinning back around for another blow. He was fast, Perseverance level fast. He must be so used to it that it's second nature.

I got back to my feet, strafed away from a right-handed jab, and threw my knife at him. He saw me throw it, and without any time to move out of the way, he held up his arm again. Though this time the knife clinked off. It took me a second to realize that he froze the surface of his skin to make it hard enough to block the knife thrown at a close distance.

He picked up the knife out of the air and readied to charge. While he was, I switched to Justice, and transferred power to it in order to fire more deadly shots. But he dodged all of them, only a few getting close enough to burn his clothes "Do all of your attacks generate an abundance of heat!?" he screamed facetiously as he dodged the last one. But until he did, I didn't notice how he was closing in while dodging. He got close enough to attack, and in evading a left hook, he put me in the perfect position to get stabbed with my knife he was holding back behind him. As it closed in I was able to get my left hand on the other side of the blade, redirecting my knife while grabbing his wrist. I twisted his wrist, making him drop the knife, as well as getting his arm into place. With my other hand and all the leverage I could muster, I punched his right arm, hearing the bone snap in half. Through the pain he halted for a second, and in that time I turned my body, switching to the Perseverance SOUL I have, ramming him away with my shoulder.

I turned back to Kindness, putting up my shield as I picked up the knife. "The shield again! You think I can't handle a little warmth?" he screamed again. I looked back to see him already hastily approaching, getting ready for another right-handed punch. But-

He punched as hard as he could into my shield's gut, and instantly I could hear the rapid thawing of ice. I barely had time to think before I felt his left hand on my back, accompanied by the same sound, as he pushed my upper back. Before I knew it, I was balanced off his right fist. He then put all of his power into his right side, extending every part of himself at once, launching me at least fifteen feet into the air. He froze his knuckles to keep them from burning. But even so, his arm...

Agh! No time. I was right above him now, and I couldn't get too caught up in thought. I steadied myself mid-air, holding my knife in both hands, waiting for me to get close enough to strike. As I descended, he didn't move, he instead threw his hands up, frosting his palms in preparation to stop my strike. Bad decision.

Right as I swung my arms down, I switched from Kindness to Integrity, increasing my weight by a factor of two. He caught me, realizing what I was doing. But again instead of moving, he straightened his arms and stood his ground.

So be it. Still being held, and balanced on his hands, I increased the gravitational pull on myself until I was five times as heavy. Ten... Fifteen... Twenty...

One hundred times my original weight. He still didn't budge. I felt the ground crumble a little as we both sank a few inches; I heard the cracks and groans of his bones under the pressure, but without hearing it, I wouldn't believe anything had happened. I can't keep this up for long. Just like the Justice shots, just holding this is wasting too much power for the payoff. Using his steadiness, I returned my gravity to normal and bent my arms, leaping off and landing about five feet away from him.
