"No, my boss is an asshole. And then there's that red-head bimbo I was telling you about, she-" I explain to Damon as I swing my legs before he spoon-feeds me whatever it is he was making for me. I felt like it was his way of getting me to shut up, but I knew he didn't mind listening to me ranting for the last few days. Either way, I still speak through my mouthful of food. "I mean, he's probably one of the worst people you could ever meet."
"You know," he starts, flinging a kitchen towel over his shoulder as he looks up at me. "When you refused my offer, I thought that you said no, not only because you hated me, but because you were doing bigger things. Not because you were a stripper."
"I am not a stripper. I do not take off any clothes," I correct him, watching as he chuckles. I give him a playful shove. "It's true. I'm never naked. I mean, my outfits are barely there, but-"
"Wait," he stops me just as my phone begins to ring in the living room. I jump off of the counter and walk toward the living room. "What exactly is it that you wear?"
I shake my head and ignore him, continuing to leave him in the kitchen. He calls after me, his tone hard to read. It could be playful, it could be serious. "Fine. I'll come to the club."
"You better not!" I call over my shoulder, finally picking up my phone and reading the screen. It was Suki. I roll my eyes, not because I didn't want to talk to her, but merely because she was at the club and she was wondering where I was. Lately, anything associated with the club was an annoying thing. For a few days, I wanted to avoid Joker, avoid what happened between he and I that night, so I called out for a few days. I knew I'd go back, but I wasn't sure when. I debate on answering for a few seconds before figuring that I couldn't just ignore her and I answer, pressing the phone to my ear. "What's up?"
"Where are you?" She asks over the chattering girls in the background. I could tell she was in the dressing room. I found myself desperately hoping she was working on getting Joker. I wanted him to feel as horrible as I did the other night. I knew this came from the sudden hatred that I had for him.
"I told you I'm not coming in for a few days." I reminded her, beginning to pace the living room floor. I glance toward the kitchen where Damon was pulling plates out of the cabinet. "Is there anything wrong?"
"Uh, well, nothing you'd care about I think," she says, her voice hesitant. I sigh, the line becoming quiet, silently willing her to tell me what was going on. I hear her stutter on the other end of the phone before she huffs and tells me everything. "That Chanel girl is still attempting to sink her claws into Joker. He's been too drunk or high to give her any real attention. He's been coming out of the lounge so she'll dance for him, but he's always staring into space."
I'm silent, thinking about Chanel. I had almost forgotten about her completely. Chanel definitely wasn't an ugly girl. All it would take was a few more days for Joker to forget I even existed and Chanel would be his new arm-candy. Jealousy surged through me like an electric current so suddenly and my attitude immediately changed from bothered to angry. I clench my jaw, gripping my phone in my hand tightly. "I don't care about Chanel. If anything happens, with him, handle it. The room is ready if anything goes down. I'll be back the day after tomorrow."
"Food's ready!" I hear Damon call from the kitchen. Hearing his voice, my body relaxes and I move the phone away from my ear, hearing Suki stutter in protest. Either way, I hang up and put my phone on silent, leaving it in the living room. I wasn't going to let Joker ruin another night of mine this week.

The look of hurt in Cheyenne's eyes the last time I saw her is all I could remember. All I could see in the haze of my intoxication. I pull the blunt away from my lips, rolling my head back as I relaxed into the booth.
