I didn't really know how to respond to that answer. So I just stayed quiet and nodded. Why the hell was I being nice to her? Everyone in town hated her, even though they didn't know who she was. They even gave her a name: "BraggartGrove's Vandal" Everyone judged her, hated her. Thought she should be arrested for destruction of property. I should be right there with them, even turn her in. She shouldn't even be in my car at all.
"Just pull up here," Selene said interrupting my thoughts.
"Oh, you live in the Whitewater apartments?"
"Yeah"
"Oh, nice. Are your parents home?
"No, they haven't been home for a while"
"Oh? Uh, when will they come back?"
"You know, for a superficial jock. You sure ask a lot of questions"
"Sorry, I just wanted to make conversation"
"Well this conversation is over" She rudely remarked.
I watch her get out the car. For a tiny person, she sure has a lot of attitude. She grabs her stuff and thanks me for the ride. She walks into the rain. Her hair, clothes, and shoes were starting to get wet. She didn't even try to cover herself from the rain. That little action amazed me, I know so many girls who would run inside to protect their clothes.
She just didn't care...
