Suicide is a huge topic in South Korea. 40 people commit suicide in South Korea everyday, with rates rising every year. With children as young as 19 years old commuting suicide. South Korea maintains its spot as the nation with the highest suicide rates in the world.
Jong-hyun had spoken out about his depression. Through his lyrics, social media, and even on some variety shows. To say that he was "hiding it behind is smile" is plain stupid. The lyrics that many fans called poetic and romantic showed the truth about what he was experiencing.

The suffering Kpop idols have to go through is something some people will never relate to.
Even if you didn't stan Shinee. I guarantee you every group you stan at least one member has spoken out about experiencing depression.
Instead of calling their lyrics poetic and romantic let's acknowledge what their going through. Remember artists write lyrics from experiences. Let's not look at them as objects or these perfect specimens. But let's look at them as human beings.
I don't want to make accusations against S.M. Entertainment. But I'm sure hey had some part in his suffering.
