An entire year has passed since I turned into a werewolf. Almost a year since the pack and I took care of Dom. A year since my family found out I became a werewolf, and moved into the Alpha pack  house with Travis and I.

After graduating high school I enrolled in a local community college, taking mostly mostly music, art and writing classes. Travis started training me and his pack to fight off the wolf gene during the cold months and stay human, if they so desired. Isabelle moved in to one of the other houes on the Rising Moon Pack territory, because she had finally found her nate as well, Travis' best friend and Beta; Derek. Mia and Callum were still a thing, and she finally met Travis and found out about the whole "wolfman" thing, as she called it. I thought, I had reached ny happy ending, and that life couldn't get more perfect, but I was wrong.

I woke up caccooned in warmth; peeling my eyes open I saw Travis' arm and legs draped over my body, trapping me in bed. The day I woke up after recovering from my stab wound, I decided I would sleep in Travis' bedroom. We were mates afterall, and the bedroom down the hall seemed so far away, now that we were finally together.

But we had yet to actually do the deed and "mate." Although, we've gotten really close, countless of times, but always happened to get interrupted.

The suspense was slowly tourturing, and killing me. Winding my nerves up into a giant ball. Although I think we came close numerous amounts of times with the amount of kissing and fooling around we would get into. But I dreaded the day it would actually happen, I felt like it loomed over our heads, and I wanted it to be perfect, just like him.

"Good Morning my beautiful mate." he whispered gruffly into my ear. I could feel a smile forming on his face as his beard tickled the back of my neck. He started raining firey kisses from my ear to my neck, down to my color bone, and stopped at the sweet spot where he had marked me as his a year ago.

My chest rummbled with a moan as he continued to torture me with his lips. "Let's go for a run today. I want to show you part of my territory.

I nodded with a smile, knowing I'd full well do anything he asked me to.

Once we got up and had breakfast Travis and I headed out back to shed our "skin," and run as our wolves.

Running as a wolf felt liberating. The speed I could run at made me feel like I could do anything. Like I could climb a mountain, like I could fly, and I felt free. Free from everything that kept me locked up before. Free from judgment, free from self doubt, free from stress and nerves, free from everything except Travis, because I never wanted, and never could be free from him.

"We're almost there, let's change back to our human forms." Travis spoke in my head as we were about to reach a clearing past a thicket of woods we were running through.

He shifted right as we arrived at a small clearing within the woods, at a river bank. The reason for tha packs name being Moon River was because a long and winding river surrounded their territory, giving them lush land to farm and hunt on, and water to drink. It was the middle of April, just at the start of spring, where flowers were starting to bloom, and winters frost was melting away.

I shifted and walked behind him, up to a thick red flannel blanket had already been laid down on the moist grass, with two pairs of clothes set out for us, and a basket that he said he packed full of a nice lunch for the two of us.

I finally started getting comfortable changing around him, maybe it was because he had no shame in walking around naked.

Once fully clothed, I sat down on the blanket and pulled his arm down so that he plopped beside me on the blanket. he laughed and pulled me into a bear hug, nestling my head against his warm chest.

It was mid-afternoon with the sun shining high in the sky, warming our faces. Birds were chirping, and the waterfall was crashing and showering the shores below us.

Travis opened the basket and pulled out a bottle of champagne, which he popped open and took a swig straight from the bottle. I giggled, but followed suit. Then he took out small sandwhiches, with cheese and meat, that we feasted on. Next he pulled out fruit; Grapes, Blueberries, Pineapple, Mango, and Watermelon. He started feeding me the fruit by hand, when all of a sudden he put half of a chocolate covered strawberry in my mouth, with the other half in his. Very Lady and the Tramp esq.

"I was ready for some dessert." he said with a smirk, leaning his his lips against mine and eating his half of the chocolate strawberry.

His lips captured mine again, in a heated, chocolatey kiss, ravaging my mouth and tounge with his electric touch. This went on for what felt like hours, when it was probably only a minute. He pulled away, keeping one of his hands tangled in my hair. His forehead leaned against mine and his took a deep breath staring deep into my eyes.

"We need to talk." Travis mumbled softly an he continued to hold me and stare into my eyes.

My heart dropped at that sentance, those words were never a good thing. I looked up into his crystal clear blue eyes and started to panic. I wouldn't be able to survive if he left me now.

His hand shifted to rest right over my collarbone, near his mark and right above my heart. "Your heart is racing. Why?" he asked.

"Well," I started quietly, "that sentance never brings any good news. So get on with it." I finished.

He laughed at that, "Oh Krystal, I didn't mean to scare you. It's just been about a year since weve been thogether, and I've already maked you, so I want you to take your rightful place as my Luna. My pack has also been desperate as well. And it's a century long tradition." He finished with a kiss to my forehead.

I looked up at him dumbfounded. "Oh, that's it? What do I have to do?" I asked.

"It's a ceremony led by all living previous Alpha's and their Luna's. So my parents, and grandparents. You and I will take part in a blood mixing ceremony. Nothing major, just a small prick of your finger, to welcome you into the pack and make you the rightful Luna who leads beside me."

I laughed, not able to believe that all he wanted to do was make me The Moon River pack's Luna official. "Of course I'll do it. When will the ceremony be?" I asked.

"Tonight. If that's okay with you." He replied not meeting my eyes and looking around nervously. Since I had become a werewolf my hearnig had imporived a thousand times. So I could hear his heart rate pick up with his last answer, making me wonder what had got him so on edge. I ignored it for now and replied, "Tonight is perfect." I smiled warmly at him and captured his lips one more time before jumping up and changing to my wolf.

"Race you to the house!!" I yelled into his mind through our link. I looked back to see a shocked Travis stand up and change into his big Black wolf to race after me. And we were off, running through the woods back home.
