Good Vibrations - The Beach Boys
Tatiana laid on her bed and read a magazine, her eyes lingering over the small snippet about the release of The Rolling Stone's new song, 'I Can't Get No Satisfaction'.
"You and me both, Mickey."
She dropped her magazine onto her lap, staring at her self in the mirror. All she could hear was the clock tick, as well as a high pitched tapping noise that occurred every now and then; it was an old house, there's bound to be a few creaks her and there.
It had literally been a day and a half since she last saw the boys, and, despite the fact it sounded cliche, she missed them. So much so, she resorted to having a lonely conversation with Mick Jagger, and he wasn't even in the room.
Yeah, she wasn't exactly on great terms with Dallas, but she missed being around the others. She thought about the words that were said, she thought about the memories the group had together, she thought about that night constantly. She wished she could see them all again, she wished she could start afresh with Dallas, but mostly importantly, she wished she knew what that goddamn tapping sound was.
Tatiana sighed and jumped up from her bed, the magazine falling to the fluffy blue rug. She first looked in her dressing table drawers, and behind them, before dropping onto her front and looking under her bed. The noise didn't seem to be coming from any of those areas, and there was nothing else in the room to be making a sound, apart from herself. She then soon came to realise the noise was from her window. She squinted her eyes as the sun shone through the glass, soon seeing the boys stood on the other side of the road, Two-Bit throwing pebbles even though she was there. Tatiana opened the window, a pebble connecting to her forehead.
"Ow!"
The seven stood there with wide smiles, besides Dally, who just looked at her with no real expression. Darry held a large chocolate cake, the words "Love Ya Ti" scrawled messily into the icing.
She giggled and shook her head.
"I'll be one sec." She grabbed her oversized burgundy cable knit sweater also placing on her leggings and white converse. Then she spritzed on some more deodorant and perfume and headed to the front door, opening to see the gang stood in the same position.
"Here she is!" Two-Bit opened his arms, Tatiana running straight into them and giving him a hug. All of the others (besides Dallas) requested a hug too, which Tatiana happily gave them.
"We missed you, where you been?" Steve questioned as they walked towards the park, Tatiana sighing heavily.
"I apologise fellas, I'm back." She reassured them, wrapping her arm over Johnny's shoulder and pulling him close.
Dally didn't seem to interested in talking to her, so she walked in between Johnny and Ponyboy.
"And how have you two been?" She asked, Pony and Johnny smiling up at her.
"We've been good, you?" Johnny returned for the both of them, Tatiana nodding her head.
"All good, thank you." She smiled, dropping her arm from him and walking normally.
"Can we eat this cake now? I'm starving." Two-Bit (of course) asked, the group agreeing with his statement.
"What do we cut it with?" Steve queried, licking his lips and not removing his eyes from the dessert.
"Go get a straight, skinny twig." Darry sent them on a hunt, also searching the premises himself.
The group hunted for said item, Ponyboy finding one as close to the description as possible.
Darry lined the twig over the top of the cake, about to press through it.
"Woah, wait. A dog could have peed on that." Johnny paused them, the group obviously hadn't thought about this when it came to doing it. There was another silence as they thought of a different plan, which lasted around thirty seconds.
"Get one from up high." Two bit said.
Ponyboy eventually had Johnny on his shoulders, in an attempt to snap a clean twig off the apple tree. Tatiana giggled at their clumsiness, folding her arms and watching.
Dally then caught her eye, waving her over and slowly strolling towards the chain link fence.
She reluctantly followed, keeping her eyes on the ground and her arms folded.
"I'm sorry about the other day, okay? I know I can be the biggest douche goin' and I'm real sorry for that. I was wonderin' if I could take you to the Nightly Double or somethin' tomorrow, just as a bit of a peace offering?" He couldn't look at her in the eyes as he thought about that night.
"It's okay, sorry for going all psycho, I wasn't feeling myself that night and I lashed out. So, I'd love to go with you." She agreed.
"We okay?" He tilted his head forwards and looked under his bushy eyebrows questioningly, Tatiana nodding with a smile.
"Course we are, Dal."
Dallas grinned and winked at her, heading back over to the guys.
They seemed to have been successful in their tree climbing plan, as they were all now trying to strategically cut the cake.
"Ey, Greasers!"
A car pulled up nearby which caught the attention of the group. Socs, obviously.
Everyone immediately went for their penknives incase the Socs were looking for serious trouble. They all leaned out of their windows, laughing at the appearance of the group.
"You get fed more in jail than what you scoundrels eat! Animals!"
And they swerved off again, leaving only tire marks and a cloud of dust behind.
"Assholes." Steve mumbled, all placing the weapons in their pockets, turning back to the cake that lay on a plate on the grass.
"Oh my god." Suddenly, Tatiana burst out into a giggling, the boys appearing confused.
"What's up with you, doll?" Dally nudged her, an uncontrollable smile reaching all of their faces.
"We spent at least 10 minutes trying to find something to cut the cake with, and you all got your switchblades in your pockets?!" She questioned, the boys also realising and chuckling.
"You're gonna be the death of me, fellas." She began to walk away, the group following.
"Not me though, right?" Dallas queried jokingly.
"Especially you, Winston."

"Close my eyes, she's somehow closer now
Softly smile, I know she must be kind."
