Y/n's POVGreat. I have to stay a week at this fucking boot camp and pretend I like it too. At least I have the willpower to not throw up when the general and I shook hands- that kid needs some serious moisturizer.
I was able to butter my way out of activities, but that just means more time with the general...Gross. Honestly, I'd rather be hanging with Nikki, Neil, and Max at Camp Campbell- even though I've only just met them, they seem like much nicer people.
Not only that, but I have to play dumb to earn the Generals trust, and honestly he is the most repulsive human being I've ever met. (Besides Jeremy Fartz) He is snobby and a brat. If you don't do what he wants- he'll throw you into the hell hole they have near the ropes course.
That's why I have to obey his every deed. I couldn't sleep last night, it was a Sunday night which means today is Monday. God, I hate Mondays- especially this one.
"Hello, my sweet." I heard a voice say, it was the general. 'What the hell is he doing in my tent? It's like eight in the morning?' I thought to myself.
Thank god I went to an acting camp, otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to pull this off. I smiled, "Hello, love." I flirted, as I rolled over in my bed so that I could face him. Jesus... his face is worse than I remember.
The general leaned down for a kiss, but I put a finger on his lips before they could reach mine. His lips were dry cackled and broken, Jesus Christ they were disgusting. I have no idea how long I'll have to keep this act up.
"Ah, ah, ah!" I smiled, "Not yet, remember- I have until Saturday until we can be together." The general frowned.
"But, my dear, I don't see why we can't be together now!" He whined. 'Oh my god, he is so ugly! Just get the fuck away from me already!' I thought.
"Oh, my love, don't you understand? I want our first kiss to be special!" I lied. When is this guy going to take a hint!
"I see. Well anyway, you've slept for most of the day, it's getting dark out." My eyes widened-'What? I thought it was eight in the morning? Did I sleep the whole day? I survived the first day?' I thought with excitement, 'OHMYGOD I FUCKING SURVIVED THE FIRST DAY! YEAH! WOOHOO LET'S GO!' I smiled really really wide.
Maybe this won't be as hard as I thought.
"Dear, why are you smili-"An explosion cut him off.
PHEEWWW PHEW PHEW PHEWWW!
The general's smile faded, "What in the hell was that?" He screamed.
Before he could get an answer, something ripped open the tent from above. I don't remember ever screaming louder than I did then.
"Y/N OVER HERE YA DINGUS!" Someone screamed, it was Nikki. They came to rescue me! Yes!
~INTO SONG... THERE'S A PLACE I KNOW THAT'S TUCKED AWAY...~
Nikki and Max were riding on a giant eagle, hanging from his talens. I hopped on it's back screaming. "SEE YA MOTHER TUCKERS! WOOHOO!"
Nikki and Max smiled as we rode off. I smiled as we rode off into the setting sun. After landing, I found out what the explosions were, they were fireworks, set off by Neil. In the chaos, he was able to hijack a boat and come across the lake back to Camp Campbell.
Also, the eagles' name was Timothy- good to know.
After telling the Camp counselors what had happened, I got pretty much a hug from everyone- except for Max and Neil- for being so brave. Honestly- like I had told the counselors, all I really did was sleep and flirt. Anyone could do it, really.
There was going to be a campfire tonight- and I 100% intended to be there, I adored campfires. Call me a pyro, but I think that fires (when they're under control) are so graceful and magnificent.
As I was walking to the campfire I decided to check on Max. I have no idea why I just did. When I walked into his tent he was writing something down on a piece of paper, I guess he decided it was bad because he crumpled it up and threw it to the corner of his tent where there was a pile of other crumpled up papers and started to write again.
"Hey, Max." I smiled. Apparently, he didn't see me because when I spoke he jumped. I laughed and took a seat next to him on his bed, peering over his shoulder to see the letter.
"Hey! It's personal, so fuck off, alright?" He laughed pushing me away.
I fake pouted, "Aww come on! Lemme see!" I begged.
Max laughed, it felt really good to see him laugh...What is wrong with me? Jesus Christ. My feelings... I think I might be getting my period soon. I don't know.
Anyway, Max and I talked for about two minutes before I decided that I didn't want to miss the campfire. Max said he would be there, but he'd be a little late. As I was walking out of his tent he asked, "Hey... Y/n?"
I turned around, "Yeah, Max."
Max looked at me, and then to the ground. "Why did you let me go? You obviously didn't want to be near that freak-of-a-general. So, why did you do it? Why did you save me and not yourself? I don't understand."
I smiled at him, he really doesn't get it. I ran my hand through my h/c colored hair, "Max, I generally care for other people's well beings, if it was Nikki that was sitting next to me in the chair, or Neil or even David, I would have don't the same thing every time, no matter how many times I get kidnapped- I want to help people, Max."
Max frowned, "I thought that you believed the entire world was shit... I believe the entire world is shit."
I laughed, "Well, you're partially right, I guess. I think that there are some super shitty people out there, that do shitty things for shitty reasons. I know that not everything in life is rainbows and unicorns, but I also know that there is some good in the world. And I want to be part of that good."
Max went silent, he kind of just watched me like I was an animal that he had just ran into, a deer in the headlights. I chuckled at him, this kid has so much to learn... I guess we both do, we're the same age after all. "Well, I'll see you at the campfire, alright?"
Max nodded.
~TIME SKIPPITY DIP DIP BECAUSE I CAN~
I walked back to my tent, the campfire was exhilarating, but this day has been exhausting. (even though I slept through most of it). Max eventually came to the campfire, we talked for a long while with Neil and Nikki.
I'm starting to really like this camp.
I walked into my tent and sat down on my sleeping bag, only to hear an odd sound, crunch. I sat back up and grabbed the item I had sat down on. It was a sheet of paper. I turned on the lamp causing Nikki to groan (we share a tent, remember?).
I read the note. This is what it said,
Hey Y/n,
Look, I don't normally do this kind of thing, but I wanted to thank you.
You saved my ass back at Camp Woodstock. I want to repay you, head down to the docs, alright?
I can't promise you won't get kidnapped this time! Just kidding, you won't be kidnapped...Hopefully.
