Y/n's POV
--------------------------------------------------------------
Just as I stepped out of David's car, and inhaled the pine-smelling air.
Sighing, I grabbed hands with Max- who had also gotten out of the car. After what had gone down at David's (and I guess, technically min too) place, we had decided to get out of there and head back to camp, it was probably for the best.
I headed to the Mess Hall and now that I was here, I started to feel a little nervous, what were the other campers going to think of me? Would they think I'm a freak show with all these scars over my body?
I guess Max could feel my tense-ness because he looked over at me, and smiled, running his free hand down my jawline. "Don't worry, you're still the same as ever, babe- I promise." He consoled.
I sighed, pushing open the door to, and revealing my face to the campers inside the Mess Hall. It went silent. I could feel my face get hot of embarrassment and sorrow. 'Out of all people, this had to happen to me. That stupid cultist couldn't find someone his own size to pick a fight with.' I thought.
I looked at the floor, not wanting to make eye contact with anyone. I could hear whispers stirring, and suddenly felt a huge amount of impact on my chest. They were hugging me, all of the kids in the camp were hugging me. I smiled and raised my arms, hugging them back.
I laughed, "Thanks, guys." I whispered as they let go.
I was attacked with questions, "What happened? Who did this to you? Why did they choose you? Was it Daniel again?" I couldn't answer them all, and I didn't need to. As soon as I opened my mouth to answer, David ran through the Mess Hall doors, "Y/N A SPOOKY TEEN ONE A MOTOR BIKE IS HERE TO SEE YOU!" He yelled.
I raised an eyebrow, "A spoopy-" I gasped with realization, and sprinted out of the Mess Hall with Max calling after me.
I was right.
It was him.
"Juggie!" I called smiling.
Jughead turned to face me, and smiled an old familiar smile. Jughead was one of my best friends growing up. He would always make me laugh and wear a stupidly adorable crowned beanie.
Jughead was wearing his Serpent jacket (he's part of a gang named the South Side Serpents) and black pants- as depressing as ever.
Jughead raises his arms for a hug and I immediately oblige. "Y/n, I came as soon as I heard the news about your parents. How are you doing?" He asked, breaking the hug and cupping my face with concern.
"I-"
"Y/n?" Max asked. I pulled away from Juggie to face him, "Who's this?" He questioned.
I planted a kiss on Max's cheek trying to remove any jealousy that was building up.
"Max," I started, "This is Jughead. My... ex-boyfriend, and best friend. " I told him honestly.
Jughead's face reddened, "It's all in the past now though, promise. Y/n and I... didn't work together. We're better off best friends." Jughead's mood changed dramatically to a darker persona as he continued, "But I swear to God- of you break her, make her shed a single tear, or feel a single sting of pain- I will give you the most painful—" I cut him off there grabbing his arm and pulling him towards the Mess Hall.
Max followed close behind, obviously unhappy about the new visitor and mumbling things like "What kind of name is Jughead anyway, and who's he to threaten me- I could soak him good." He grumbled.
I giggled, Max was adorable when he was grumpy- which was pretty much all the time. Max is adorable all the time.
~Time slip until after you show Juggie around~
"...And that's pretty much the camp!" I smiled.
Jughead rolled his eyes, "I toolllddd you Y/n" he whined, "I didn't come here to get a tour- I came here for you, to see if you're okay!" He exclaimed.
I sighed, "Okay, I admit, I was putting it off, but I promise I'll tell you how I'm doing. Let's go back to my tent, we could talk there."
I pretended like I didn't notice, but the entire tour, I could see Max watching Jughead and I though the Mess Hall window. At first it was cute, now it's getting annoying.
I pulled back the tent curtain and let Jughead come in and sit on my bed. Nikki was on some adventure with Neil- something about a Camp mascot, so I had the tent to myself.
"Jug... I've been doing well, not well enough to be fully healed from what happened -" 'and all the crazy events after it too.' I wanted to add. "I have Max, and David. I have Gwen, and Preston, Nikki and Neil- he'll, I've got the entire Camp supporting me. I love it here. I love being with Max. I still hurt every now and then but so does everyone. I'm glad you came, and glad that you cared enough to ask if I was okay, but I'm starting to think that you aren't just here for that..." I told him.
Jughead's face saddened. "Yeah, you're right." He paused, and took a shaky breath, "Y/n, I still love you. I want you to be with me, come back to NY with me Y/n. Please, I need you." He confessed.
I didn't know what to say. My emotions were everywhere. I just got stabilized (emotionally) after, well, after everything. Jughead liking me? He barely even knows me after what had happened this summer. I'm a changed person, and I literally have scares to prove it.
"Jughead I-I" my voice started to crack. Ever since I came to this damn camp it's just been one problem over another over another. When will I get a break? Will I ever be happy? Is this the universe's way of telling me that I don't deserve to be happy?
"I can't, right now Jug." I whisper.
I ran out of the tent.
