Love Notes

Christmas is right around the corner, and my mom is leaving town with her new boy toy. They're going on a two week vacation to Hawaii. What's so messed up, is that we don't get to spend Christmas together as a family anymore.

What's even worse; Oliver plans on throwing a party at the house. Nice, as if I didn't already have plans to remain anti-social for the holiday because people suck.

So right now, I'm currently sitting on the couch downstairs, eating chocolate ice cream from the bucket, with tissues all over the floor, and I may or may not have gotten chocolate pudding on my mom's new carpet. I'm binge watching High School Musical.

Feeling like crap.

Ding Dong

The doorbell rings, and I let out a groan. I'm in no mood for visitors. As I get up from my comfortable spot, I somehow manage to trip and fall over a puppy toy. I curse under my breath. "Can you clean the fucking chew toys?" I scream to nobody. Of course I'm alone at home.

Don't get me wrong, I love puppies. I just don't like that my mom's boyfriend spoils her with endless gifts. He thinks he can just buy his way into the family. Ugh.

I look through the peephole of the large oak door, only to see the most unexpected person. I sigh, unlocking and opening the door.

"Auntie Nona!" My aunt Winona is my dad's older sister. She's my favorite human in the world, and I don't think I'd mind her company at the moment. "Hey, Molly! I just thought I'd stay for a while and hang out with you." My aunt often comes around if I'm going through a rough patch. So I guess she may or may not have caught wind about my suspension.

As I lean in for a hug, I see a white envelope clutched in her gloved hand. Puzzled, I give her a questioning look. She shrugs. "I found this on the front step, saw that it's addressed to you. Maybe it's important?" It was my turn to shrug this time. My aunt stood there shivering in her ugg boots, and I step aside allowing her to come into the house.

"Do you think it's from Finn?" I freeze, my heart sinking. A chill went down my spine, as I slowly turn around to look at Aunt Winona. "H-how do yo-"

"Jack told me you were having boy drama. Just thought that might be it." I bite down on my lip. Fucking Jack. I forgot he and my aunt were close. I give her a small smile, heading toward the kitchen. "Why don't you come into the kitchen with me, and I can make you some hot choco? Then you can open the envelope for me and see what's inside of it?" I suggest

She nods and proceeds to follow me into the kitchen. I began looking through the pantry. Maybe the packets are in here, they should be.

....

I finished making the hot chocolate. I grabbed both of the mugs, one for me one for Nona.

I can hear the sound of paper being torn and I turn around to see that my aunt had indeed torn through the envelope. Digging around, she plucked out what I assumed to be a folded up paper.

I set the mug down in front of her, she looks up at me with a warm smile. "Thank you."

"So what's in the envelope?" I take a sip of my hot chocolate, and it tastes amazing. My aunt arches an eyebrow and unfolds the paper. "It's...  I don't know..."

I groan. Taking the note from her hand, I unfold the rest of it. "This is the sixth time this week that Finn has sent a fucking love letter to me. I can't take it anymore!"

My aunt Nona frowns. "That's creepy...Maybe he feels guilty and just wants to apologize?" I sink into my seat.

"What does it say?"

I begin reading the letter.

Diary diary,

Molly Molly Molly Molly Molly- "

"Holy damn... It's an entire page filled with my name." My aunt looks at me with a confused look.

"Lemme see..." I hand it over to her, and she furrows her brows. "I don't understand... Usually when someone writes a love note, they write something flattering to win you over. This- this is just... creepy."

"I wanna throw it away," I reach over the table for it, but Nona pulls away.

"No... Keep it. I think you should keep it encase...Y'know. If things get out of hand and you need evidence to get a restraining order or something. Man this guy is creepy."

"I don't know. Finn isn't really like this. He's not-" "Creepy?" I nod my head.

Reaching over to grab my phone, I begin typing away.

Me: Finn... can we talk?

Finn: You forgive me?

Me: Sure, whatever. Did you send me another note today?

Finn didn't respond until a minute later.

Finn: No. Is everything okay?

"It wasn't Finn..." My heart began to beat rapidly. Was this just a prank?

My aunt bolted up in her seat, grabbing the house phone and dialing a number. "Who are you calling?"

"Your uncle David." My heart felt like it plummeted twenty feet and fell out of my ass.

My Uncle David...Is a retired detective.

A/n: Gaaaahhhhh!!!! Hey everyone I'm back. I feel a lot better, thank you for the support and positive feedback. I thought maybe I'd make things very spicy this chapter, and hopefully leave you on the edge of your seats. Who do you think sent the "Love note"??? Comment who you think it is. This should be interesting.
