TODAY IS THE DAY.
THE DAY WHERE I INTRODUCE THE LONG AWAITED LETTER/CHAPTER.
(you know what, thinking about it now, I really should've done this letter first)
THIS IS PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT LETTER IN KOREAN.
SO CHILDREN, TAKE YOUR NOTES.
So today, we're gonna be learning NG or place holder.
Or ㅇ.
NG or placeholder = ㅇ
I'm pretty sure that I've confused so many of you guys because I didn't do this chapter first.
I'm super duper sorry about that by the way.
😅
So this chapter may be a little bit confusing.
ㅇ can be a beginner letter or an ending letter.
It's never gonna be a middle letter.
But when ㅇ is a beginning letter, it's a placeholder.
When ㅇ is an ending letter, it's NG.
For example, 영.
The first ㅇ is a beginner letter, so it's gonna be silent, a placeholder.
It says.. (in a whispering voice) nothing.
ㅕ is something we've already learned. It's YEO.
So the ㅇ that is in the ending letter's place is gonna be NG.
So what is this word?
Yeong.
Or in English terms, Yong/Young.
(That's mai middle name *blushes*)
So do y'all understand?
ㅇ is a universal (in the korean language) placeholder.
Remember the first chapter, (probably the most confusing chapter) when I said ㅇ and ㅏ were a cute couple?
That's a lie.
ㅇ can go with any middle letter and can start any word.
*whispers* hoe.
응,영,열,알,잉,엑, and 엔 are some good examples.
Like I said in the beginning of this chapter, ㅇ is probably the most important letter in the whole Korean Language.
I'm being really serious with that.
There really isn't an "easy saying" to this letter. I just think of it as the most important letter in the korean language.
:)
Sorry I couldn't really make this letter any easier to remember.
:(
But don't worry!
As you keep progressing and keep trying to attempt to read in Korean, you'll get the gist of everything!
That's how it happened for me!
This is the last chapter on learning new letters!
The next couple of chapters are just gonna be of grammar rules and little articles for y'all to read in korean (for practice).
Please don't stop reading here, keep on going!
There's gonna be a lot of reading practice to get y'all more fluent in reading and writing.
I'll also have some questions for y'all since y'all know the alphabet.
And don't think that I expect y'all to be fluent in reading and writing in korean. It took me about three to four weeks to actually LEARN everything.
Learning a new language is something that takes time, practice, and lots of studying.
I hope that y'all took lots of notes.
If y'all are serious about learning how to read and write in korean, y'all should read this book five to six times.
Good things come from hard work.
Except child birth.
That only results in that is.. *cringes* you.
LMAO IM JUST KIDDING I LOVE YOU GUYS!
I hope y'all had a great day!
Bye bye!
