Hello children.
This lesson is the first grammar lesson I've ever had in this book.
I'm really excited because I've just finished all the letters!
So this lesson is gonna be on DOUBLE LETTERS!
The concept of double letters is really easy in all actuality.
As y'all have already seen in the chapter title, double letters literally means Double. Letters.
ㅆ is a good example.
•Double letters - It's just when you put two of the same Korean symbols together to form one single Korean symbol•
For example, 싼.
The ㅆ is considered the beginning letter, even though there are two symbols.
Understand?
The only thing this does is make the sound more harsher and stronger.
ㅆ is the only double letter that changes it's original sound.
Instead of sss~ like a snakeu, it becomes shh~ like a stingy librarian or something.
But only a few of the korean symbols in the Korean language are able to become double letters.
In the far left of your korean keyboard on your phone, those are the only ones able to become double letters.
You understand what I'm talking about now?
Only the letters circled/boxed letters are allowed to become double letters.
So I'm gonna go over all of them briefly.
First is ㅃ.
ㅂ makes a buh sound, correct?
So based on my information that I've already told y'all, what do y'all think ㅃ means?
That's right, it's just a stronger BUH sound.
(Btw whenever you say a double letter, you should always have at least a little bit of spit flyin from your mouth)
ㅉ?
That's right!
Just a stronger version on JUH.
ㄸ would be a stronger version of DUH.
ㄲ would be a stronger version of GUH.
And we've already gone over ㅆ.
If y'all don't believe me, then you can try it yourself.
Just type the same symbol twice in your keyboard to experiment.
:)
That's all! This is basically all you need to know about double letters.
I'm probably not gonna have a lot of these grammar chapters to be honest.
Maybe next chapter I'll do a quiz.
;)
It'll just be a baby quiz, don't worry.
I hope y'all have a great day!
Bye bye!
