Few days later …
Aabel’s POV
I slowly opened my eyes and looked around, feeling a headache kick in. Was it because of the high levels of oxygen I still wasn’t used to, or was it because I slept too much?
In fact, how much did I sleep?
I looked around and blinked when I saw Devin sitting next to me. He was sleeping on my legs, preventing me from pulling the covers and getting up. I have to admit, the whole accident made me lose some of my memory. Well, I suppose it was for the best. After all, knowing what will happen wasn’t fun at all, despite being a necessity in my situation.Well, I hope I don’t mess things up in the future. Then again, coming from the future meant I am doing everything right! It’s not like the future can’t be changed or anything … right?
Huh, now when I mentioned that, what was I supposed to do now?
“Losing my memory wasn’t so good after all …” I mumbled. Alright, I should probably try to get up and --…what the hell is that?
My eyes widened in surprise as I watched the weird bulge between my legs. It was practically lifting the covers, and I was almost scared. I immediately imagined a big-ass spider and felt the need to smack it hard, but Devin pressed his cheek against it and I couldn’t do anything.
The moment he laid on top of it, I felt a weird, tingling sensation in my feet, and I figured out the thing had bitten me or something, because now it felt like it was a part of me. I gulped and tried to gently push away the brunette’s head, but simply touching his cheek made me feel dumb. How can one have such a soft cheek? Mine wasn’t like that. Devin’s face was all … warm and … fat. He looked like the way humans look when they’re born. He looks like .. newborns! Yeah, that’s the word.
The newborn huffed quietly and hugged my legs, pressing said cheeks further into that dangerous spider bulge. I felt it bite me even harder, because my legs went numb and my stomach tightened from a weird sensation I couldn’t comprehend.
Perhaps, because this was the opposite of my world, pain has been inverted, too.
His little, puffy lips were partially opened, and his drool was sliding through them on the covers. I couldn’t believe how this disgusting sight made me feel. As if I found his saliva beautiful or something!
I huffed and quickly pushed the boy’s head away from me, getting up with a frown. Devin gasped as he fell from his chair, and I jumped from my bed, throwing the covers on the ground. To my surprise, there was no spider.
“W-Where did it go?” I questioned myself out loud, mentally scratching my head. There was a weird pain in my back, but it wasn’t too bad. It just felt slightly sore, I suppose.
“W…Y-You … you’re awake!” Devin exclaimed as he stood up on his feet, watching me as if he saw Jesus Christ in a pub. I raised my right eyebrow in confusion.
“Duh.”
“B-But you were …”
“Asleep, yeah. And now I’m awake.”
“Y-You …”
“There was this gigantic spider under the covers and now it’s gone and I’ve no idea whe—“
“I WAS SO SCARED!” Devin suddenly screamed in my face and hugged me, squeezing me tightly. I felt annoyed for not being able to finish my sentence, but a sudden warmth in my heart made me forgive him quickly. The numbness between my legs was now throbbing, and I knew I had been infected with whatever that spider injected when it bit me. I shook my head and gently pushed Devin away, looking at him with seriousness.
“Yeah, cool story, I’m fine now. Look, there’s something in this house.”
“Y-Yeah?” He stuttered, rubbing his eyes as if they hurt. He had wet traces on his cheeks, and his hazel irides were extra shiny today.
“I don’t know where it went, but I’m pretty damn sure it’s somewhere here. It’s big, it’s hard and it bites.”
“Bites?!”
“Yeah, it bit me. I mean, look at my pants and – OH MY GOD IT’S IN THERE”
Devin quickly covered his mouth, his face turning bright red. He looked like he was either going to start crying or start laughing, whilst I was trying to deal with the spider in my pants. It was there, throbbing and twitching, and I quickly looked for something to smack it.
“O-Oh…” The brunette finally spoke, dropping his hands. His lips were pinker than before, and his eyes were staring at my crotch with a confusing mischievousness. I simply frowned and took the Mickey Mouse pillow I had slept on, trying to kill the thing in my pants with it. I began hitting it as hard as I could, and with each smack, my feet would tingle and burn.
“A-AH, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!”
“What does it look like, I’M KILLING THE GODDAMN THING!”
“IT’S -… Y-YOU CAN’T KILL IT LIKE THAT, AABEL!”
“THEN WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST?!” I was screaming in panic, and Devin started screaming with me. We were practically shouting at each other, like two deaf men.
His cheeks were even redder than before, as he shook his head and bit his lower lip. He seemed to be contemplating on whether to tell me something or not, and in the end, I think he decided to do it. I mean, judging from his lips moving and sounds coming from them.
“L-Look … it’s … n-not what you think it is …”
“Oh, I’m damn sure it ain’t. I thought it was some sort of a wound, but I bet it’s that poisonous spider, holding onto my skin with its teeth.”
“It’s not a spider, Aabel..” He quietly sighed, gulping. The kid looked like he was running a fever, with his bright-red cheeks and his shallow breaths. I almost immediately figured out he was bitten as well, and when I checked his pants, my worst fear was confirmed.
There was a bulge. It has begun.
“Devin … stay very … very still.”
“E-eh?” Dev stuttered, looking at me with a sudden look of confusion. I slowly dropped the pillow and took small steps next to him, preparing for the ultimate move. This cannot be ignored any longer. I bet he was going to feel the pain from the bite soon, and I will try to prevent this from happening.
“Just close your eyes and take a deep breath. This will be over before you say my name.” I instructed and Devin gulped in fear, nodding. He timidly closed his eyes, just like I told him to, and I knew that now was the time to act.
I quickly pressed him against the wall and clenched my teeth, pushing my hand inside his boxers. My fingers grabbed the spawn of Satan and Devin led out a cry of surprise and embarrassment, squeezing my pajamas like he wanted to rip them.
When I felt the hard, pulsing flesh in my hands, I realized that it wasn’t a spider at all …
