I had a feeling that even asking the whereabouts of a demon lord was a long shot, guess I'll have to find him the hard way.

That bastard has it coming, he may have saved both my brother and me, but he was still a demon.

I hate demons, not even Ryu could change that feeling.

Ryu was all that mattered to me and in the end I lost him too. He was the person I wanted to protect and as his big brother I failed to even do the vow I made.

As I rose in the ranks, I became a knight to protect Ryu. I never cared about the Queen.

Ryu was all that I needed to come home to, but demons took him away from me.

They'll all pay. I'll send them to hell where those bastards belong.

They will all rue the day they murdered my family, I'll reap vengeance upon them by taking down the strongest among them. They'll beg for me to spare their wretched lives and I'll let my dagger consume their souls.

I came across a stranger walking by me and the old woman smiled.

"You will find more than you want, fallen one. What lies ahead is dark beyond your control and there will come a day in which you realize why you are still here," the old woman went on her way and before I could ask what she meant, she was gone.

Strange she knew I was a nephilim and I get a feeling she was an omen of misfortune.

That's just grand, I'm on the radar of the demon lords' hunt list. No old fortuneteller is going to scare me into giving up my duty.

A small farming town was ahead and I sensed another strong demonic aura.

It was stronger than the one before, could it be...no, there's no way that the old woman meant...

Ha ha ha. Nah, it's got to be coincidence.

I strolled into town and seemed quite vacant.

This seemed strangely familiar to me as I kept my hand on my dagger.

I knew Claudis, he wasn't the type to play fair. Most demons don't care how they win, but Claudis used things that I loved to draw my attention.

Demon lords are the worst. They don't exactly understand the concept that not everything they want is theirs. It's hella irritating.

I noticed the source of my uneasiness as I saw an abandoned saw mill and went inside climbing up half fallen apart steps.

God, why do demons choose the worst areas to fight in?

I sighed annoyed and reached the top to find a citizen standing there.

"You should leave it isn't safe here," I stated as the person turned to face me.

That smile...can't be...

"Ryoma, I thought you left town," the man speaking to me was an old acquaintance of mine. I had grown up here near this town.

"Yeah, I did. What are you doing up here?" I asked casually confused.

"He said you'd come back, he was right,"

I stiffened when I felt the dark demonic aura thickening the air around me.

"You're a lure," I stated. "Dammit,"

I frantically searched for the source of the aura, but it was too potent to tell where it was coming from.

"Stop running, Ryoma, you know he'll always come for you."

"Shut up!" I fumed and glared at him. Those damn blue eyes filled with soulless emotion. It was like looking at a doll. "I'm never going back to that demonic bastard! I'd rather die a million times over,"

I felt something else behind me, but was jabbed with something as I reached to pull it out. It was a small needle and I tasted the surface, it was a poppy paralysis drug.

I spat out the awful taste.

"You can stop fighting him, Ryoma." The old friend I once knew had betrayed me, he was lost to the demon's charms.

"Once that hits your system, you cannot move," a voice came as I realized it was the demon responsible for my irritation. "Give in, I promise we do not intend to cause you unnecessary harm, Ryoma Alkade. My master forbids it,"

I tensed up as I started laughing madly amused. "That right. Guess you demons think it's that simple to overpower me with cheap tricks, you guessed wrong,"

I ran passed them both as I froze time for twenty seconds.

I leapt out letting my wings get me a good distance down to the field below as time resumed above and I ran like hell.

Shit. I shouldn't have gone there.

Stupid stupid stupid.

"Ry-o-ma," I heard the voice of the betrayer who was suppose to be bait for me.

God, why does it feel like everywhere I go there's another ominous entity waiting to tear me apart.

My body was heavier than usual, but poppy is a dangerously fast through the bloodstream.

I hid behind a tree big enough to hide my physique.

I need to stay awake and let the poppy work through my system or I'll be shipped back to a perverted demon who likes to use me as a pet.

I hate demons, they make everything beyond simple to understand what it is to be happy.

Bastards think it's funny to use you like a toy and prize on display.

I hugged tight to the tree and heard the man I knew close in on my position.

"Come out, running and hiding won't save you." He called out to me trying to coax me out into the open.

I knew this man, he was kind to me and now he was on the demon's marionette. His name was Zef. He was the son of the mayor here until probably now, but he's not that person.

The person I see is a pet to those demons. He's a dead man to me.

I realized he stopped calling out to me and I held my breath.

Where did he-

I heard something slice into the tree I had hidden behind. The tree fell and I rolled away from it so it wouldn't crush me.

"There you are," Zef stated as I tried hard to conceal my surprise at how muh he's changed.

I'm in for an asskicking. Shit.
