Lazily I woke up and my chest was still extremely tight and looked around me as I saw blurry little creatures over a large pot.

They hadn't noticed I was awake and checked myself seeing my dagger was gone.

Peering around the room, I noticed ace was tied up at the paws as he whined worriedly.

I tried to sit myself upright, but the creatures anchored me to the hard wood floor with thick rope.

Damn. What is happening here?

I never get caught like this, but even I know what had gotten a hold over Ace and I. They were going to eat us.

I cleared my throat and I caught their noticeably beaty black eyes. Their skin was a mossy green color as had lithe arms and legs with a stout body and large pointed ears.

"I wouldn't eat me if I were you, I'm not that tasty. And the dog over there is a little lean if you know what I mean,"

They looked each other as I noticed what they were, goblins.

Vicious little vagabonds that eat anything with meat on it. They had a habit of cooking their food alive and I'm not going to let them eat Ace.

One of the scampered up to stare at me for a moment. "It alive," the goblin said as it hopped up and down gleefully.

That's bad news for me.

They were simpleminded in their speech patterns like a caveman.

"Food no talk," the other one said as I narrowed my gaze on them.

"I'm not food." I stated bluntly. "Untie me and I won't run,"

I sat as they only gave me blank expressions.

"Food no go,"

Typical response, but it wasn't a yes or no.

"I promise, I no go," I responded.

One of them came over and cut off the ropes tying me down to the ground.

I sat up and my arms were still tied behind my back and my ankles held together with the strong rope.

Aw, my entire body cried out as I took in short sharp breaths.

"Thank you," I said as the goblins were stunned by the manner.

I guess I should shut up, but they only stared hungrily with those black beady eyes.

I got a grim picture of what they were thinking as I rocked forward to get to my feet and they started to hiss.

"I did say I wouldn't run, but I'm not your dinner." I said as I tore the thick ropes on my arms off and their eyes widened baffled. I tore the rope off my ankles and I could move freely.

I felt a presence in the air that caused my anger to flare.

"Demon," I muttered as I searched for my dagger.

I ran over to Ace and unbound his paws as he remained by my side.

Th goblins came after me as I was weaponless and dangerously close to being mauled by their pointy needle like teeth.

I was about to dodge, but just as my body reacted, the demonic aura thickened up the room.

The goblins shuttered as they backed away from me.

The demon's eyes flared a brilliant red as his gaze purely fixed at the goblins. "You touch him or his pet, I will slaughter the lot of you."

His dark ebony hair cut short with his neaty trimmed stubble.
