I became a reaper of demon souls the night a demon lord came into my home and mutilated my parents' bodies. I was left to rot in the wake of their deaths and to shield my defenseless little brother. Yeah, I was a reaper angel.

The demon's aura was nearby and I was at a disadvantage considering I was found out before I could take the bastard out. My chest felt constrained and burned by the oxygen filling them. The alley was too dark to see anything clearly as I took little steps further into the shadows. Where did that bastard run off to? I searched around me fervently, spotting nothing resembling a demon's shadow. This has to be the worst screw up in the history of the demons I've killed. Geez, I don't know how he knew I was onto his trail, but I can't let my guard down until he's dead on my sword.

Unfortunately for me, I had to hunt him on a dark, cloudy night like this. I walked cautiously down the stony brick pathways, hoping to find my target. "You can run, but you know, I'm rather impatient with cowards," I said trying to call him out in the open where I could at least wound him. "What, are ya gonna try to run?"

I felt the demon's aura and within seconds, I turned my head halfway to see no demon. Wher-? I tripped on something and realized too late it was the demon's hand that grappled onto my left ankle. I fell face flat, landing hard against the stone street. My forehead smacked onto the hard surface and I gripped my sword tighter as I sat up. The alley was spinning and my eyes couldn't focus well. I probably injured myself bad enough that I won't be able to defeat this demon with ease.

"Who said I would run little angel?" The demon asked mockingly as I got to my feet. My whole body felt like it was slammed into the street. "It is rare to see an angel hunting a demon just because he enjoys a little excitement now and then,"

That really irritates me! He thinks this is fun, just my luck. You never meet a demon who sits still and lets you run him through. I glared over at the demon with a new perspective. "You'll pay for angering me, demon."

The demon laughed at me. It was a light scoff compared to most demons I've crossed paths with. His red eyes sharply gazed upon me. He had dark hair unlike a certain demon lord I know. It was in an upheaval as the short curls seemed to loosen with the touch of the night air. "Will I?" The demon said mockingly. He was definitely taller than I thought, but he was only half an inch taller than me. He began to move toward me as I rocked unsteadily on the heels of my feet. "You must understand the concept of forgive and forget,"

I glared into those damn red irises. "Stereotypical bullshit, I have no need for a useless concept like that,"

He stared at me with a vigor to his eyes. "Well, that was a bit of a surprise. I had a feeling you were not as angelic as I have heard, just the way a spoiled child would be." He said as he paused at least a hair's breath away, he began to grin. This isn't going to end well, is it? "I find it rather comforting that you are so willing to recklessly get in my way, however," his eyes remained on mine as he gripped the wrist of my left hand that held onto the blade. He squeezed it so hard my wrist felt like it might snap.

"Damn you," I said as I tried to escape the death grip on my wrist. I bit back the pain as his grin grew wider.

"You have a nice expression, little angel. Why do you hide it under that cold confidence?" His voice beginning to ring in my ears as the blade clattered to the street. My wrist hurt, but I smirked back at him as I tore out of his grip. I unfurled my wings and grimaced at the ache he had left in my wrist. I noticed how wide his pupils had grown at the sight of the onyx feathered wings on my back. "What marvelous wings you have,"

I summoned what strength was left to me and made a tiny smile. He has no idea that I allowed him to see them so that I could distract him. I made a move to pick up my demon blade and it's black aura began to encase the blade. "Not goin' to be as marvelous as seeing die right where you stand," I lunged using all the strength and speed I could muster to pierce this demon's heart.
