::Serenity::

"What's the matter, love?" Jacob asked, nearing towards me.

"J-Jacob, when did you get here?" I stuttered.

"Your shift was almost over anyways, so I figured I'd come and keep you company until you clock out. Did something happen?" Jacob questioned me.

I shook my head as tears continued to fall. I did not know what had suddenly came over me, but all I felt towards Jacob at this moment is resentment. I've allowed myself to fall for him, under the misinterpretation that he'd protect me forever. In which, I knew he could but would he protect me from myself, or himself at that?

"Serenity, please tell me that they did not turn you against me?" Jacob asked in wonder.

"They just said that I seem attached to you and don't believe that it's good for my mental state. They remember me being so frightened over you and your presence, but now? It's like I'm under some type of spell. You literally stabbed Malcolm a couple of nights ago and I said nor did anything about it." I cried.

"Love, that's okay. He was hurting you. It's none of their concern that we've decided to unite as a couple again." Jacob said, taking another step closer to me.

His eyes seemed sincere. A worrisome face presented itself as he stepped closer to me. He took my sketchbook and other loose papers from my hold and set them on a nearby desk. He took my hands and brought me into his hold. One of his hands grasped the back of my head, his fingers getting tangled into my curls. His other hand wrapped around the entirety of my waist. My head rested on his chest, I could feel myself beginning to calm down but I could also feel his heartbeat and he was no longer calm. I could feel pulses throughout his back as I held on to him. His breathing began to get heavier and the heavier his breaths got, the tighter he held on to me. I felt as if I was being suffocated. The door came open again and in walked Maggy. I looked on the side of Jacob's shoulder, glancing at her face. She stopped in her tracks, acting as if she had been interrupting our moment. In which, she was in a way, and I potentially thought she could save me from Jacob's hold until I saw a look in her eyes. A look that I did not agree with. It was one of alert, yet admiration towards Jacob. It was like she didn't like his hold on me, and wanted to get me away from him for my safety yet, only to scoot in and secure a spot with him. I looked up at Jacob, signaling my eyes behind so that he could look and see whom had been staring at us for what seemed like five minutes now.

"Why is Serenity so shook up, Maggy?" He immediately questioned with gritted teeth.

"Um, I'm not quite sure, Jacob." Maggy stated.

"When I dropped her off for work this morning she was fine, she was content. Now, I want to know who has disturbed my girl's day?" Jacob continued to question Maggy, his veins grew visible the more he tensed up and allowed his slight madness to show. I squeezed his forearm, urging him to calm down.

"Everything has been okay today, us girls all had a little talk amongst ourselves but that's it. Nobody hurt or threaten her, so I don't know why she's so shook up. Maybe she's remembering how anxious you used to make her feel once upon a time." Maggy boldly retorted.

Jacob then let go of me, not giving me another look. He walked up to Maggy and looked down at her, seemingly to make her feel small.

"That's all in the past, and unless you want me to be a problem, I suggest you shut your mouth and stop putting nonsense in Serenity's head. She's been through enough." Jacob demanded.

"Yeah, and by your hand. We all see her struggle. For the past few days she's been in la-la-land." Maggy defended.

"Oh, so you think you snapped her out of it or something?" Jacob chuckled. "What she's been feeling for the past couple of days is something real, she's come to her senses as far as me. So, I'm not going to continue to explain myself. Come on, Serenity, let's go home."
