Stiles taps his foot, waiting for the barista to give him his coffee. Derek's waiting for him at a table by the window. Stiles watches him stare out the window at all the people, admiring the way the afternoon light hits his face and leaves sparkles in his eyes.

"Here you are."

"Thank you."

Stiles takes his coffee back to the table and sits down. Derek looks at him and smiles.

"I thought you said you were getting cookies, not another coffee."

Stiles stays silent for a moment. "Frick. I knew I was forgetting to get something."

Derek laughs causing Stiles to roll his eyes but it doesn't stop the small smile hinting on his face. Stiles loves watching Derek laugh and hearing it. His laugh is just something he could constantly have playing on a record.

"Do you want me to go get them?" Derek asks, leaning back in his chair and tilting his head.

Stiles shakes his head. "Nah, your mom still has a bunch of cinnamon cookies."

"She's making snickerdoodles today. I told her those were your favorite."

"You're a blessing! I love snickerdoodles. My grandma used to make them all the time whenever I would go over to her house. The smell alone brings back memories."

"Have you visited your grandma since break has started?"

"Yep. My dad and I went over to her house when I was staying with him for three days."

"Oh yeah, that's when you were reorganizing her bookshelf. Did you decorate it with lights like you did yours?"

"I wanted to but she told me no because then I'd have to come over everyday and turn them on. Said she's too lazy for lights on a shelf."

"But she has a Christmas tree. Although that is only one thing to plug in and it's a main decor item."

"I still think the shelf of lights would've looked awesome." Stiles takes his cup in his hand and swirls it around. "Have you talked to Peter? I'm surprised he hasn't stopped and met me yet."

"Nope. It's weird, he comments on Instagram sometimes but he doesn't text or call. Mom says he's making a visit on Christmas Day or something."

"Ooo, about all this Christmas stuff, are we gonna spend that together and go to the family gatherings together or just separate for that day?"

"Hmm, didn't really think of that to be honest." Derek has an expression on his face that Stiles recognizes as his thinking face. "Both families celebrate Christmas on Christmas Day?"

"Yep. Grandma says it's a tradition that shouldn't be broken for no Christmas Eve."

"My family likes spending Christmas Eve as a household then have everyone else over on Christmas Day."

"Maybe we can just separate that day. Spend a little time with our families."

"Not gonna work. My family got you presents so you have to be there to open them."

"See, so did mine but I figured we could do that Christmas Eve." Stiles taps his chin. "Now that I think about it, that wouldn't work. Grandma would hate me."

"Spending it together it is. Let's hope they make it two different times otherwise..."

"We're gonna need clones. That's the only solution to this."

"Clones?" Derek raises an eyebrow.

Stiles gives a quick nod. "Yup. Only solution. That's it."

Derek shakes his head and laughs. "You're right. We need clones."
