Deep Within

Exploring The Royal Cave

   "Shelby!"
All of a sudden a robot came floating towards me. She was black with gold designs.
"You called?"
"Umm yes, can you explain to me what this place is and how to use it?"
"Sure! Well as your dad told you this is the Royal Cave created just for you. I am Shelby your second in command under you, your mate, and your beta but over those of your high council and below."

   "High council?"
"Yes but I believe we can go over all of that later right now we must get you situated with the computer. Now the computer is voice and fingerprint activated so in order to use it you must say what you want or put in your fingerprint and type it in. For instance if you wanted lights you would say......"
"Lights." I reply.

   All of a sudden the room lit up with light. With all the lights on I could see that the cave was much bigger than I originally thought, the cave seemed to run for miles. There were different hallways and rooms that seemed to be endless. I looked up to see the part where we had entered. The area was closed up by now.

   I looked at the room we were in which seemed to be the main room. It had a giant screen connected to the even bigger keyboard desk area.
"You can add your mate's voice in there as well if you want, but all programs have to be ran by you." Shelby stated.
"Umm can we stop saying her mate? I mean I know that we are mates but I would much prefer that you use my name." Messiah says.
"Yeah I agree." I stated
"Well what is you name ma'am?" Shelby said respectfully.
"Messiah"
"Ahh, Mrs. Messiah Mayfield I am terribly sorry for that and what might be your name sir?" She asked Reed
"Reed."

   After a while of correction Shelby finally got everyone's names right. Though sometimes she still calls Messiah Mrs. Mayfield which always brings a smile to my face. Shelby showed me how to work the computer and the rest of the systems. After that, I asked Messiah to help me established a mind link with the computer and set up a name to call it. We called it Lacey.

   "After the mind link was established I started to test it. I started out by asking questions.
'What is the name of my beta Lacey?'
'Reed Thomas.'
'What is the name of my mate?'
'Messiah Carter'
I kept asking questions like this until I was sure the computer had all the right answers. Shelby told me that in order to stay up to date the computer is constantly updating it's system and can run millions of thousands of programs at once.

   'What is the name of my brother?'
'Emanuel Richardson last name was changed to Mayfield at the age of 2.'
'What are the names of my parents?'
'Liza and Connor Mayfield.'
I asked a question that I was scared to ask and not sure I wanted the answer to.
'Lacey how did my parents die?'
'Death by execution from the order of Emanuel Richardson. Would you like me to go further into detail?'
I knew I needed to know.
'Sure.'
'Liza and Connor Mayfield were publicly shamed, abused, tortured, and killed I the town hall of Shifter Central.'
Then on the screen appeared a video of them being whipped by Emanuel.

   As the video continues you see people forced to watch and participate in the violent activities taking place. Emanuel grabbed one of the townswomen and forced her to throw stones at them. He continues making others stone and hit them. Those who refused to do so got the same punishment as my parents. The things my brother put my parents through got worse, much worse.
"TURN IT OFF. DAMNIT LACEY TURN IT OFF!!!!" I screamed

   Even though they weren't in my life that much, seeing any person especially your parents being treated so badly hurts. In that moment I wanted to cry but I also wanted to kill the person responsible.
"Hey Ro, we're about to start.... What's wrong?" Messiah said worried
"Nothing I'm fine." I replied looking away from her.
She walked over to me. She reached her hand out to touch my face. She wiped a tear off of my face that I didn't even know had fallen.

   "Talk to me."
"No, it's fine. I'm fine okay?"
"Okay." She replied clearly still worried.
She gave me a hug and we stood in silence just like that for awhile. Eventually after the long hug I told her what happened and showed her the video. She gave me another hug afterwards and then pulled me by the hand out of that area of the cave. She walked me down the hallway and said
"Let's explore."
We went down the hallway opening doors and looking around then moved on to other hallways. We went on like that for hours until we bumped into Reed.
"Guys you got to see what I just found." Reed said excitedly
We followed after Reed and went into a large room with nothing in it but a large door looking object and a control system.
"What is it?" Messiah asked
"I don't know." Reed replied
I mind linked the computer.
'Lacey what is this room?'
'That is the portal room it allows you to travel back and forth between realms and Earth.'
"It's a portal."
