"Why haven't you texted me back?" Calum snapped.
I groaned and slammed my locker shut before turning to face the kiwi lad I'd known nearly my whole life.
"Sorry, I just haven't charged my phone over the past few days." I sighed.
"Well tell me what you were so busy doing that you couldn't text me back for at lunch." he said tugging me to the lunchroom.
When we entered we were met by the same seating arrangements we'd learned to live with throughout our high school careers. Everybody sat with the people who were similar to them. It reminded me of Mean Girls in a way(Not that I've seen that movie a million times and know every line because I'm a boy and that's something girls do). Everyone had their own clique they stuck with all the time. The AV club sat together, Math club, Drama, Preps, Goodie-Goodies, Skanks, football players, the swim team, art class, and there were the people that everyone avoided being Luke and his group of friends. They all sat in the same spot taking up a whole table themselves without worrying about the poor people like freshmen who haven't found their spot yet, and me and Calum. We go where ever there's an empty seat, sometimes having to mix with a club that didn't exactly welcome us with open arms. We didn't care though we just needed a place to sit for the lunch hour.
We approached the food line and grabbed whatever was being served. I followed behind Cal as he expertly moved around the lunchroom in search of somewhere to sit. Luckily we landed a booth all to ourselves near the goths and where Luke's group-sadly- sits.
As I sat down I couldn't help but notice Luke's eyes wonder away from his buddy in front of him to me. I tried to ignore his flaming gaze and eat my lunch but I just couldn't with him staring at me so intently.
"Excuse me Cal, are you gonna eat that banana?" I asked. His eyes looked confused but I had already took the banana and looked at Luke. He smiled like he was happy that I was aknowledging him. I pointed to the fruit in my hand and looked at him, his eyebrows raised suggestively. I smiled reaching into my back pack and pulling out my scissors. His eyes widened in horror as watched me cut the banana in half and throw it over at his table, landing with a splat in the center.
His eyes lifted up and narrowed at me. I smiled widely before returning to Calum who was flipping throughpages of a comic book and laughing about something while twisting spaghetti noodles around his white plastic fork. "So, you gonna tell me about what you were doing yesterday?" he asked flipping the page.
"I fought Luke out of my house." I grumbled poking at my food.
"What?" he gasped choking on his water."Y-You slept with Luke?"
"No! Yes-but not in that way!" I said stumbling over my own words.
"Spill, Irwin. I want every detail." he said closing his comic and scooting it to the side to stare me down.
"Luke kept harassing me to let him take me out, so I did. I caved in and went with him to a party, but it wasn't a high school party. There were people well out of high school and covered in tattoos and peircings. There were drugs going on and Luke decided to dabble in them. Or shove them in chocolate form down his throat." I explained.
"He ate weed brownies?" he asked. I nodded and added in "And smoked some."
"Well he couldn't walk properly so I had to drag him around. He lives all the way accross town and I was not about to walk him there..." I went on to tell him about everything until I felt someones prescence beside me.
