What a dick! I should have told him that but I'm new here and already missed first period so I don't have time to deal with his or anyone's bullshit. I picked up my stuff and a girl came up to me. She began to help me pick up my things.

"Don't take this as me being nice. I'm just doing my deed of the year," she said looking at me with facial expression that yelled in the language of anger. I began to laugh because for some dumb reason I found it funny to laugh at a girl who could easily pull out her knife and cut me. She looked at me as if I was insane then grabbed my neck and pushed me against the wall and said, "Look zorra, I don't know who the fuck you think you are, but I'm not someone you should mess with." Then she let me go and walked away as if nothing happened.  Wow I just love it here.

I got up and tried to catch my breath. But I couldn't. I just kept coughing loudly. It came to the point where this pretty lady who smelled like peppermint came out of the office.

"Oh my love are you okay," she asked. I answered with a yes. "Do you want to come inside? Do you need a nurse? Are you-," I interrupted her and said, "I just need my schedule."

"Oh you're the new girl. Come right this way," she said in response. We went into the office and she started attacking her keyboard. "You're Dakota Anais Palmer and wow you're taking some hardcore classes. What will you be doing to balance this with some fun," she asked as she continued to do what she had to do. She looked young and asked a lot of questions. Her curiosity aggravates me so much right now.

"Maybe cheerleading or something," I lied through my teeth. I'm like the shy nerdy girl. Not like in the movies. I have my sins and I do mix my fun tings with school. Just that I don't like new beginnings a lot.

"Look love, you don't have to do anything you don't want. You don't have to fit in. Like I know-"

"Look I just need my schedule so I can begin with thy shitty day." She looked at me all surprised and took as a sign not to say anything else. She handed me my schedule and I left the office.
The bell rang and a swarm of kids came out. I dragged my feet to class because at this point what's life. My second period class was AP chemistry. I only decided to take this class because my chemistry teacher last year told me I should try due to the fact I was his best student.

"Okay class this is Dakota, she's our new student," Mrs. Pinkett said. Some guys cat whistled at me and I don't know why. I wasn't even trying today. I wore an orange t-shirt and black jeans with vans. Then one guy said something that I didn't catch and the guys started laughing at him. He looked at me with lust in his eyes and as if I was just somewhere he can put his horny little junior in. He looked like he objectified women. Mrs. Pinkett continued," Ignore those hooligans. Your seat is next to that empty seat who's decided to skip school this whole month." She continued commenting on this mysterious boy who I'll most likely never meet due to his skipping.

I took my lunch and looked at the large cafeteria that was probably big as the zoo and loud as one. I realized that I had no idea where I was going to sit. I felt like they were all looking at me but they probably weren't. I'm not much of a looker. I don't try to dress well because I am stick and there ain't no curves on this body. My face is revolting with a mix of acne and freckles. I'm just "ew" or feel that way at least.

I found that Hispanic girl from earlier and decided to sit with her because it beats sitting alone in a restroom stall contemplating life. She looked up at me and said, "You're not wanted here." "I know I'm not but I'd like to redeem myself." "I don't know where you're from but around here no one gives a shit so leave me alone." "You can easily get up and leave me alone too or we can sit here and become friends."

I thought that'd make her get up and leave. I was scared she'd do that and I'd lose a potential rude friend, but she stayed. She said nothing the first few minutes, just went back to reading her book, The Great Gatsby. "So which teacher is letting you read The Great Gatsby? I didn't know that it was on he curriculum," I said trying to clear the tension in the air, but she just ignored me.

So I started to look at her features. She wore all red. Like the color red was her defining character. She wore a red bomber, ripped black jeans. Her hair color was a deep red with bight red highlights and matched her honey brown skin. She had a nose piercing. Her brown eyes were outline by a red eyeliner which I guess was to emphasize her edginess. Then i realized that her eyes were staring back at me, I quickly apologized.

"You're pretty nice. Too nice and you will get stepped on a lot with that defining characteristic," she said and laughed. "Okay I take it back bitch," I said while laughing. She stopped laughing and I got scared. Like I just snickerdoodled (I mean fucked) up. Then she started laughing again and I joined her.

"With me bitch means puta, I'm Rociello and I don't like people but you're acceptable."

"I'm Dakota and I've been told that I'm too nice."

And with that began our friendship.
