Jace and Emery seemed to be attached at the hip. They worked out together. They ate together. Then they worked out together again. The two of them spent all of their time working out with each other. Just like they did before she left.
Usually Izzy joined them. But she had been spending time with Simon. Working out with Simon, going on dates with Simon and shopping with Simon. Izzy was happy. She was happy that she was with Simon. She was happy that Emery was home. She was happy that Alec was happy. She was happy that Clary was here. She was happy that the war was over.
But today it was just Emery and Jace. The two of them sparing, the only sound was their heavy breathing and their weapons colliding. Jace knew how to take Emery down. That she was usually more focused on taking the other person down than protecting herself. Jace knew he did the same thing, but he figured it was a complex that they both had from being abandoned by their parents.
"You suck." Emery groaned getting off the ground one more time. Jace smirked and flipped his hair out of his eyes. God his eyes are astonishing. Emery thought, then shook the thought away. She couldn't be thinking about him like that. Emery wasn't sure if he was kicking her ass because she was tired. Because she was busy staring at him. Or if he was just better then her. There was no way he was better then her.
"Awe come on you're just having a bad day." Jace told her, pulling her to her feet. "Wanna go again?" Jace asked, a smirk played on his face. Emery narrowed her eyes at him before knocking him to the ground. Jace rolled his eyes before standing back up.
"We should go get some food." Emery then said, rolling her neck around as she had hit her head earlier.
"Yeah I'm down for some food." Jace said shrugging his shoulders and wiping his face down with a towel. Emery laughed loudly.
"You're always hungry." She teased him. The two of them walked out of the gym. "I'm gunna go take a shower and change. Then we can go get some food." Emery told him then walked down the hall to her room.

"Clary it's just lunch!" Jace yelled, throwing his hands in the hair.
"It's not just lunch though Jace!" Clary told him while crossing hurt arms at him. "It's working out together! It's lunch! It's hanging out all the time Jace!" Clary continued to yell at him. Jace rolled his eyes at her.
"Clary I don't get why you're making such a big deal about this." Jace commented while rubbing the bridge of his nose. He didn't understand while Clary was being so controlling.
"Jace," Clary's voice was lower now. "if you're in love with her can you just tell me?" Clary asked him. Jace's eyebrows narrowed while looking at her.
"Clary-"
"No Jace." Clary stopped him. "Don't make me feel like I'm crazy for thinking this, alright? Because I'm not." She told him. Jace sighed before looking over his shoulder. Emery came running down the stairs, staring her phone and not noticing Clary and him fighting.
"I've got to go," Jace said quietly, "Can we talk about this later?" It wasn't really a question. It didn't sound like a question. Jace was leaving to go the lunch and didn't matter what Clary said.
"Jace if you go without finishing this conversation with me we're done." Clary threw that line around all the time. It had no effect on Jace anymore. Jace rolled his eyes before grabbing his coat. He then went and kissed Clary on the forehead.
"I'll see you in a few hours." Jace mumbled before he walked out the room. Clary threw her hands up before walking out in the opposite direction.
"Hey let's go." Jace said resting his arm over Emery's shoulder. Emery nodded, smiled, then followed his lead out the Institute.
