Izzy swung an arm around in attempt to come into contact with Emery's left shoulder. Emery dodged it before knocking her elbow into Izzy's rib cage. Izzy lost her breath for a second as Emery managed to pin her to the ground with their fake blade to her throat. Izzy sighed and blew hair out of her face. Emery smiled before helping Izzy up.

"I guess all that time with the best of best did you some good." Izzy joked. Emery had to admit that she felt as though she had gotten better, better than Izzy was now but that didn't mean Izzy wasn't one of the best. Izzy has saved the world.

"Yeah well I'm not the one who saved the whole world though." Izzy laughed with Emery, they both dipped their water before moving to weapons. Izzy and her Whip and Emery with her Bow and Arrow.

Emery had first picked up a bow when she was five, before she came to New York. When she lived in Huston with her family. That was two years before she moved to New York. To say Alec was mad when he found out she had chosen the Bow and Arrow too was an understatement. But eventually he loved having someone around to compete with.

"Have you met Clary yet?" Izzy asked, the way that Izzy spoke about Clary made Emery sick to her stomach. Izzy spoke ask if this Clary person was amazing. And maybe she was.

"Clary the redhead mundie girl-"

"And Jace's girlfriend." Just then Emery let an arrow fly. The arrow reaching the moving target, a perfect shot. "Good shot." Izzy encouraged. Emery set her bow down.

Jace Wayland- well Herondale. Jace wasn't a Lightwood either, well not biologically. He was brought here after his father, Robert Lightwoods parabatai, died. Jace was here two years prior to Emery. The two were extremely close due to their circumstance. Both parents dead. Jace has been the first boy Emery had ever kissed. Jace was the first boy that Emery ever liked. She had safely left him as the Clave called her. She wondered how he was all the time.

"Jace is dating Valentine's daughter?" Emery asked, she tried not to make her voice stuff. But it didn't work, the words come out corse and rigged. Izzy looked at her with weary eyes. Izzy knew how Emery felt about Jace, or how she used to feel. But she also knew that Emery leaving three Jace into a downward spiral. He began sleeping around. He became a different person. Clary had fixed him.

"Yeah." Izzy said, setting down the bow staff, "And he loves her." Emery smiled. At least he was happy. Right? If she couldn't be here at least someone was.

"Is she nice?" Emery asked, she hoped that she was nice. Jace deserves nice. He deserved someone who would make him a better person.

"Yeah she is." It wasn't Izzy who answered her. It was a deeper voice from across the room. Emery held her breath. It was Jace, he was leaning against the door way. His shirt hugged his chest and his hair flopped to the side. He had filled out, gotten taller too. Jace looked good. No, Jace looked great.

Emery wasn't sure what she was supposed to say to him. She had left without a word to him. To any of them. With Izzy it was easy, with Alec it was harder. This was impossible. When she left they were in a good place. They were together. But then she broke him. Leaving this place was the hardest thing she had ever done.

"Jace." All she could do was say his name. She searched for the words and all she found was his name. Over and over while in Idris Emery had thought about this moment. Thinking of what to say or what to do when she saw him again. But all she could come up with was say his name.

"After all this time and all you can come up with is my name?" Jace said, she couldn't tell if he was joking or if he was being mean because she would understand if he was being mean. "I mean I know I'm good looking but I was good looking when you left too." Now he was joking, right? He smiled, snuggly. That was his thing. He was smug but he cared. Emery smiled too.

Jace pushed himself off the wall, grabbing two bow staffs off the wall. Emery set her bow down as she caught the staff Jace threw to her. When they were younger they pushed each other when it came to training. Trying to be the best. Jace was the best, or at least he was when she left. There was no doubt that he still was.

"So how was Idris?" Jace asked pushing towards Emery with his staff. Emery was trying to tell if he was mad at her for leaving or not. Wanted to know if he was doing this because he was mad or if he wanted to know how she had grown as a Shadowhunter.

"Only spent a few months there. I spent more time traveling and looking for Valentine." Emery kicked a foot out to knock Jace over. Jace fell before pulling Emery down on top of him.

"Your task force didn't do so well if it took my friends and I to take Valentine and Sebastian down." Jace teased. He then rolled over so he was on top of her. Emery couldn't believe they were having this conversation, or that she was letting him beat her.

"Yeah well we both know the Clave isn't always right." Emery teased while looking up at him. Jace smiled down at him.

"Well at least they didn't brain wash you-"

"Oh please, did you honestly think I was weak enough to let them do that?" She grinned. Emery then pushed him off of her before standing up and pressing her staff to his chest.

"No." Jace said grabbing that end of the bow. Standing up, admitting defeat, "But I'm glad your still you." Jace said putting the bows away. Emery loved watching him, that hadn't changed. He turned towards her again, "And I am glad your back."

Emery smiled, for a few minutes she had forgotten about the Clave. About the war. About Valentine. Jace made her forget about everything that had happened in the fast three years. Jace made her forget that he was no longer hers. He made her forget that he had a girlfriend.
