Chapter 1: A Ride to Hogwarts

A/N: This story travels from Harry's first year to seventh year. This story travels through canon but there will be definitely AU according to my choice. This is h/hr definitely.

1. A Ride to Hogwarts.

The scarlet steam engine started it's ride. The thoughts of the boy in the compartment of the steam engine traveled back. He thought of his condition in his uncle's house. He was starved,made to do chores,got beaten up for getting more marks than his cousin Dudley . That was until a man named Hagrid stormed into his uncle's sea house and told him that he was a wizard.

Now he was sitting in the hogwarts express holding the Bertie bott's every flavour beans. Sitting near him was his first friend Ron Weasley eating a snack. Harry opened his chocolate frog. A frog made of chocolate leapt and gone away. He turned the card and said " Hey I got Dumbledore". Ron said," I already got four of him. Harry's thoughts drifted again to his childhood memories . He was always bullied by his cousin. He thought to himself that "from this moment I will not let anybody to bully me or others in my presence".

At that moment the door of the compartment slid open. A girl of their age came and asked in a slight bossy tone " Have anyone of you seen a toad named Trevor  a boy named Neville lost it. The answer was given by Ron in a slightly harsh tone "We have not seen it". But the girl seeing the wand in his hand asked are you doing magic let's see that. When his magic spell or so called magic spell by Ron didn't work see took her wand in hand and said," I have learned some simple spells but they have worked for me for example Oculus Reparo pointing her wand at my glasses". Wow he exclaimed because nobody had cared about him or his glasses. He said thank you politely. Welcome was her response.

She said them to change into their school robes and went out of the compartment. Bloody hell Ron said and added I hope I will not make in her house. But Harry had other thoughts he said,"I hope I will make in her house".Ron blinked in surprise. When they reached hogsmeade they were taken in boats and lead to the castle. When they were taken inside professor McGonagall they saw a hat placed in a stool and thus it started to sing.

"Oh you may not think I'm pretty,
But don't judge on what you see,
I'll eat myself if you can find
A smarter hat than me.

You can keep your black,
Your sleek and tall,
For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat
And I can cap them all.

There's nothing hidden in your head
The Sorting Hat can't see,
So try me on and I will tell you
Where you ought to be.

You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve, and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart;

You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil;

Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
if you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;

Or perhaps in Slytherin
You'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folks use any means
To achieve their ends.

So put me on! Don't be afraid!
And don't get in a flap!
You're in safe hands (though I have none)
For I'm a Thinking Cap!"

Cheers started to erupt from the Great Hall on all the sides .Professor McGonagall started to read out the names of the students "Abbot Hannah". a girl from the crowd came in front of them and sat on the stool . After some moments the cat shouted "Hufflepuff". When harry looked in the direction of greasy haired professor he felt a prickling sensation in his forehead and the next moment it gone as if it was not there. His attention got diverted when the professor called out the name " Granger,Hermione" ,she went and sat on the stool and the hat was placed on her head. After some time the hat shouted "Gryffindor".Loud cheer erupted from Gryffindor table.She went to join the Gryffindor table.Then ,came his name Potter, Harry he went forward then he heard a voice in his mind speaking to him Plenty of courage ,not a bad mind either ,but where to place either Slytherin or Gryffindor .Harry spoke "you may sort me where it is appropriate ". Then came the voice of the hat echoing the great hall " Gryffindor ". He went to join the other Gryffindors in the Gryffindor table to sit near Hermione. When he asked Percy the Prefect about the greasy haired professor he told him that he was Snape the Potions professor.Ron Weasley and Neville Long bottom and some others sorted into Gryffindor. While Draco Malfoy,Crane,Goyle,,Pansy and others sorted into Slytherin.After the sorting professor Dumbledore stood up and said Oddwit,tumblr,nitwit neep and the feast begin.After the feast Dumbledore once again stood up and said that Forbidden forest is forbidden for a reason. As usual magic is not allowed in corridors. And third floor corridor is out of bounds for those who do not wish to die a painful death. Now off to bed.
