Chapter 2- Finding a new Friend

A/N: Hi guys I am back. Yes I am alive. Sorry for the late but college started with no internet or WiFi facilities not to mention unavailability of my mobile or lap. But I will try to update as early as possible. Here is chapter two. Read, review,vote. Pretty please. Until then have nice day.

The classes started on Monday. Harry woke early as old habits never die since he always woke early at Dursley's to make breakfast. He checked the time to find out only 4.30 am. He come out of boys dormitory to common room. He sat there wide awake for solid 1 hour. Then a shadow came down there and he recognized it as Hermione Granger ,the girl he met on Hogwarts train. Hey, she greeted and hi,he replied. "How come you are so early? " she asked. Just practice I guess. You see my relatives are not good type of people. They used to hate our types wizards and witches. I'm sorry,she said. It's okay. What about you. Why are you so early?. Oh I will always get up at 5. It's my morning routine you see. Get up early,study for sometime and getting ready for school. "Yeah, I guess you're muggleborn right." Yes" , she replied .I think I wanna be friend with you ,what do you say. I'm fine with that. They shook their hands." I think we should get ready,let's meet here at 7 to go to great hall for breakfast " said Hermione. "Okay" replied Harry. They get up and went to their respective dormitories to get ready for their day.

Harry met Hermione for breakfast and they went to great hall together. Transfiguration was their first class. Professor McGonagall was in her animagus (cat) form and taught them to transfer match sticks into needles. Hermione was the first to transfigure and earned five points to gryffindor and she helped Harry to transfigure. When Harry transfigured his matchstick the door of classroom banged open and a certain weasley named Ron entered. Professor McGonagall locked him with stern gaze. Well Mr.Weasley I should turn you into a watch so that you will be on time to your class. Five points from Gryffindor for your lateness. Now find a place to sit before I take further points. And Five points to Gryffindor for correct transfiguration Mr.Potter.
Harry turned to look Hermione beaming at him. Next class was charms. A part goblin professor has to stand on pile of books to teach them. At last came their most dreaded Potions class. When they entered the cold dungeons nobody was there. After sometime what looked like five minutes came their greasy haired professor Snape. He started by reading the name card but stopped at Harry's name 'Ah' Harry Potter our new celebrity. "You are here to learn the subtle art of potions making. I can teach you to bottle frame,brew glowry even put stopper to death. He paused at looking Harry. Ah Potter tell me what would I get if I added powders root of asphodel to the infusion of wormwood. Hermione's hand shot the air at once .I dunno sir. Let's try again where would you search a bezoar if I ask you to find one . I dunno sir. What is the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane. I don't know sir ,may be you should ask Hermione sir, I bet she knows answers for all of your questions. Cheeky aren't we Potter. Clearly fame isn't anything. Two points from Gryffindor Potter and he waved his hands at the board and at once the answers started appear on the board. Now why don't we copy them. The class has gone as hell for Harry because Snape continued to target poor Gryffindors in his whole class. When classes ended he was the first to exit. Later that evening in common room Harry met Hermione. Hi , he greeted. Hey,harry she replied enthusiastically." Um Hermione I wanted to learn potions and other subjects more could you help me". Harry what Professor Snape asked is beyond our level ,you don't need to worry about it. But you seemed to know the answer Hermione. That's because may be I am a bookworm. But I don't think you are bookworm. I don't want Snape to take anymore points from me. OK harry if you insist let's study together and do our homework together. I will also lend you my books to study. Thanks Hermione you're the best. Hey,that's what friends are for right. Right, let's start transfiguration today. Soon came September 19. Hermione woke early to remember that it was her birthday. She wished to get wishes and presents but remembered that she has only one friend and he too doesn't know about her birthday. Harry too only woke late and doesn't show any care about her birthday. Hermione can't find Harry at their usual place in common room where they used to do their homework. When she was in her thoughts Hedwig flew through the door and came in front of her. She gave Hedwig some owl treats and read the letter

Meet me in Hagrid's hut .

She run through the gates of Hogwarts to the edge of forbidden forest to Hagrid's hut. When she opened the door nobody was there. It was pitch black and suddenly the lights came surprisingly came Harry and Hagrid and professor McGonagall,Flitwick,Dumbledore and there hung balloons and letters that read "Happy Birthday Hermione". Harry brought the chocolate cake with twelve candles in it. Hermione cut the cake and gave it to Harry and other Professors and to hagrid. All the proffesors gave their gifts to her. Professor McGonagall and dumbledore said in unison Harry approached us and almost pleaded us to be here to celebrate your birthday Hermione. So here we are. Dumbledore whispered in her ears " don't let go of a friend like him Hermione". Yes,sir. Thanks for turning us into children for few hours Harry. With that the professors left. They returned to their common room late at night with special permission from Headmaster. In common room Harry gave his gift to her "Happy Birthday Hermione" she opened to reveal a bag and few quills. She looked puzzled Harry begin to explain, This bag is added with feather light charm so that you can carry as many books with you it won't feel heavy and also it won't tore. And this quill it has lots of colours in it. I watched you using lots of colour inks to take notes. With this you no need to carry as many inks with you. It also refill its ink for a year. You need to ink it only once in a year. She hugged him hard as if to squeeze his life out of him. "Oh Harry" it must have cost you a fortune. You're worth it Hermione. I haven't got any presents from others other than my parents. You are a great friend Harry. Thanks, he replied. You even asked our professors to come to the party. Yeah that was easy though , I approached professor McGonagall and with her help I contacted other professors. Hermione cut him ,but Harry tell me how did you find my birth date. That Hermione .....
