Chapter 9:Philosopher's Stone

         The trio were studying in the library when Neville came there limping on his one leg. "What happened to your leg Neville?", questioned Hermione. "It's Malfoy, he tripped me in the corridor", answered Neville. "What have you done back Neville?", asked Ron expecting that there was a fight. "What can I do Ron, I am just a boy with no magic talent", said Neville depressed. "You should start to stand up for yourself Neville, You are worth two Malfoy", said back Harry hoping his words will cheer Neville a bit.

              "Thanks Harry, you are right I will fight back next time. But as of now I have to meet Madame Pomfrey ". "Here Neville take this", said Hermione giving him a chocolate frog. "Oh Thank you Hermione. Here Harry you are collecting the cards right". "Yeah, Thanks".

         "I got it", Harry shouted immediately earning a glare from Pince. "What have you got Harry?". "I remember where I have read about Nicholas Flamel, look here". "How I forgot that, I wanted to do a light reading on this book". "You call this light reading ", said Ron earning a hard glance from her.

                          "Here, Look Albus Dumbledore and Nicholas Flamel worked together to achieve the greatest thing called Philosopher's Stone also known as elixir of life". So this is what Snape is after, right. "It seems so". Alright I think we can get more answers if we meet Hagrid. What do you both say?. "I'm in, both of them said with determined face". Then let's meet him tonight.

                                     That night the trio went to Hagrid's hut under the invisibility cloak. When they entered Hagrid was shocked to see them at that time."Hagrid we want to ask you a question". "Actually I gotta show you all something. "Here look at this. "Isn't he beautiful. "Hagrid, is it really a dragon?". "Yeah! , Should you doubt it Harry. "But you live in a wooden house Hagrid", Hermione said to him. He doesn't even know to breathe fire Hermione, he only want to know his Mommy. "Only seconds after his beard was in fire". "Okay, Ron you told that your brother Charlie in Romania is a dealing with dragons right". "Yes, you are absolutely right". "Right ask your brother can we give this dragon to him, so that he will be taken care of". "Alright Harry I will write a letter immediately to my brother.

(Time Skip: After One Week)

                         "Harry, I got  reply from my brother". "Well that's good Ron What did he said?". He wrote that he will be here by midnight of tomorrow, So we should send off our little monster tomorrow. "Alright, Ron then I will inform to Hermione and Hagrid and we will be ready by tomorrow. The next day  the trio and Hagrid were waiting for the arrival of Charlie and saying their farewell to their beloved Norbert. When it was time both Harry and Hermione with the dragon went to the Astronomy Tower to hand over him under the Invisibility cloak. When they were returning to Gryffindor Common Room they were greeted by an angry looking Professor Mcgonagall and  Malfoy.

    "Whatever the reason may be it gives no permission for a student to wander the school at midnight". Eventhough Harry was worried about him he was evenmore worried about Neville, since he was caught only because for trying to help them. "You all four will be serving your detention with Hagrid and 50 points off for each of you."I'm sorry Professor, but did I hear you say four of us?". "Yes Mr.Malfoy, whatever your intentions maybe it gives you no permission to wander the corridor at this time". "Your detention timing will be mentioned later. Now all of you off to bed".

  On the detention Hagrid took them to the Forbidden Forest. "What are we going to do in the Forbidden Forest Hagrid?, Hermione asked him". "Some one is actually the Unicorns Hermione, and our job today is to find the wounded Unicorns. "Unicorns are really fast and powerful creatures, so killing them will not be easy. So whoever done this should be a powerful enemy. So everyone be careful. We will spit in two group. "All right I want him", said Malfoy pointing at Fang. "All right, but I tell you he is a bloody coward". "Fine Malfoy, Harry and Fang will go in one group and rest of us will be in one group. If you are in danger send sparks in the sky , alright. "Be careful all of ya". And the group set apart in two other ways.
