"Hello, hello? My son has not been home for 4 days already, could you please help, oh ok."
"What did they say mom?" Jake asked as his mom worriedly closed the telephone.
"We must go to the sheriffs office." Jakes mom replied
"Don't worry mom, maybe he's just in his friends house." Jake said as he tried to calm his worried mom. Jake tried not to believe that his brother is starting to be one of those missing children. He scratched his head and took a deep sigh.
"Mom, you wanna go now?" Jake asked,
"Y-yeah." His mom replied breathing heavily.
Jake opened the door of the house and walked to the sheriffs office which was just about a kilometre away from his house. While arriving to the sheriffs office jake took another look before coming in the front door. It had a decent size, nothing special about it, it had a large sign above the front door that says "Sheriffs office of Alabama".
Jake and his mom went inside and walked slowly to the chiefs office. Opening the door to the chiefs office Jakes mom took a sigh. There was a table and two chairs that had the chief seated on one of the chairs. Jake stood near the door with folded arms.
"Take a seat ma'am." The chief said while smoking a cigarette,
Jakes mom sat on the chair and sighed again, "My son had not been coming home for 4 days after his field trip."
"This is the second time you came here already ma'am lets just give him more time."
"What, more time? this is urgent!"
"Okay, okay ma'am, what did the teachers say about this?"
"They, they said that he was not in the school bus when they went home and no one could find him after a long search."
"Where was the field trip?"
"It was beside a large river that leads to a waterfall, near the woods."
"I knew it, most of the kids that was missing was last seen in the woods."
"Would you help me?" Jakes mom asked as she teared up a little bit,
"Thats my job, but it would take a while ma'am."The chief sighed.
The chief then looked at Jake, then looked at his mom, "Umm, I'd like to have a private talk with your son ma'am, you could wait here." The chief stood up and walked outside his office with Jake. "Whats this private talk for sir?" Jake confusingly asked.
"Listen up kid, your mom is mentally unstable right now and just keep her calm."
"Okay sir." Jake replied,
"Oh yeah, one more thing, don't tell you're mom about this, the latest kid that was missing was found without half of her left arm, it's strange, really, it could be connected to this case but i'm still not sure."
"What did she say?" Jake asked
"She saw a monster and it bit half of her hand off, we're not sure, it was probably just a bear."
"Strange."
Jake knew that he had to do something about this strange case.
