Chapter 3
----16 minutes had passed and the alarm was still going off. We called to room service to see if this was happening in any other room, it wasn't. This was going to be a bad day I could already tell. Then it got louder, and louder, and louder! Everyone was in tears now even Mom, Dad, and I. I thought for a second, I knew where it was coming from. As soon as I ripped open the shower curtain I saw red blinking flashing 2:00 A.M. I picked it up and was trying to press snooze and stop. Nothing worked it just kept beeping.
-----"MOM! DAD!" I yelled. My throat was starting to hurt. "I FOUND WHERE IT WAS COMING FROM!"
-----Dad rushed in while Mom stayed with Jamie and Hazel. He smashed it on the ground where it broke into a million pieces. The noise was still coming from a little plastic box that came out of the clock. In it was a key that rattled around as it neared the box. I took it. None of this would be happening if we hadn't moved I thought.
-----It was now 7:39 and we were on the road again. Hopefully we will get there by today and not have to sleep at another stupid hotel. The car seamed to rock and rumble. My heart began to race and I swallowed hard. Luke kept barking and everyone was in a panic. An earthquake had just struck and we were off the road along with all the other cars. People were jumping out of their cars in swarm as another car explodes and pieces went everywhere. One by one on the other side of the road they ALL exploded! All the children and mothers in the swarm started crying along with Hazel and Jamie.
-----Red and blue lights started flashing with sirens following behind. Hazel was leaning on my shoulders hysterically crying in my arms, I was too.
-----"It's going to be alright, nothing will happen to us, don't worry." Dad pronounced.
-----Since it was only October it was getting chilly. Today it was raining again so we were all shivering.
-----"Help! Help! Please! Somebody help me!" A middle aged women yelled with fear.
-----Tons of people rushed over to see the commotion that was happening. Our Silver Explorer was parked in a ditch with a trailer hitched on the back. Bungie cords were wrapped around the tarp covering all our items that we decided to take with us. Along with the women yelling with fear, what happened was her 19 year old son had gotten thrown around the car and couldn't make it out. He did not lay dead just very very injured. The ambulance had gotten him on a stretcher carrying him out of the crowd, maybe losing his life.
-----"What will happen to him Daddy?" Questioned Jamie.
-----"He'll get better soon Jamie, don't you worry," He explained while his voice shook.
-----"What about all these other people?"
-----"Other people will help them and make them feel better."
-----"Are you sure Daddy?"
-----"Yes Jamie, I'm sure."
-----"Okay I trust you."
