"Love works in mysterious ways, my friend. Mysterious ways."

--

The next day, at school, the four friends met up with the Decathalon team at the buses, except Peter was running late.

All of them joined the Decathalon at the beginning of this school year, and Sabrina became in on getting Peter onto the Decathalon team once again.

"Peter." Abe said as he leaned on the bus.

The group of Decathalonians watched as Peter came up to them, asking to join back in.

"Peter?" Liz asked.

"Yeah, hey, I was thinking maybe I could, rejoin the team?" He said out of breath.

He looked at Riley and she nodded.

"No!" Flash said and angrily walked up to Peter, "No way. You can't just quit on us, stroll up and be welcomed back by everyone."

"Heeey, welcome back Peter!" The teacher, Mr. Harrington walked off the bus and smiled at Peter, "Flash, your back to first alernate." Riley and Sabrina snickered at Flash.

"What?" Flash asked in disbelief.

"Hes taking your place!" Abe said, and a couple people smiled in amusement.

"Uh, excuse me, can we go, already?" Michelle stepped forward, "Because I was hoping to get in some light protesting in front of one of the embassies before dinner, so."

"Protesting is patriotic. Lets get on the bus." Mr. Harringson said.

Right before everyone loaded onto the bus, Flash angrily threw his jacket at Peter.

During the bus ride, the team practiced Decathalon questions, as well as small conversation.

Riley however, spent most of her time wondering about her dad. He never answered.

"So, Riley, how is everything between you and Peter?" Sabrina asked.

"Good. We are friends again. Although he was going to ask me a question right before Ned came in, but he dropped it when I asked again later in front of Ned." Sabrina smiled to ear to ear. "What?" Riley sighed.

"Peter liiiikes you. He really really liiiikes you!" The blonde sing-sang.

"What? No. We're just friends." Riley looked in Peter's direction and saw him on the phone.

"Mmhmm. Thats what all the blind people say about love. Have you noticed the signs?"

"There have been no signs!" Riley defended.

"Fine. But lets just make sure, okay?" Sabrina pulled out her phone and went to notes, where she did in fact have the signs to someone liking you. "Number one, excessive contact?"

Riley thought for a moment and did notice how much eye contact they make... "Yes, but it goes both ways I guess..."

She smiled, "Good. Number two, making sure you're okay as much as he can?"

Riley smiled and thought of after that night she got hurt, he asked many times after that, "Yes..."

"Perfect. Number three, started laughing when you laugh, smile when you smile, ecetera?"

Indeed that is true... "Maybe. I do that do." Riley groaned.

"Wonderful. Number four, avoids you from time to time?"

Riley's eyebrows furrowed, avoiding? "Uh, I don't think so... Although there was that one time he didn't speak to me after lunch, that day we were hanging the Homecoming sign."
